Friends List in the Forums

Is there a way making a friends list here in the forums? When I want to message someone I have to search throw the threads to find them first, or look at my message history. Am I missing something?

If you click on a forum user's profile, there's a button to [+Follow] them. Could that be what you need?

Most web browsers support folders in their bookmark systems. Bookmark the forum profile pages for all your friends and place those in a folder for easy reference. I do the same thing for in-world profiles via my.secondlife.com. I have bookmarks for you in both places.

I don't follow anyone, so I don't know exactly how the SL forum follow mechanism works. In other venues that have this function, I've found that "following" reduces my exposure to everyone I'm not following. I value the serendipity that comes from keeping my eyes wide open.

Chroma's suggestion will give you the info, so first 'Follow' those that you would like on your list.  Getting back to your own list of followed people is a bit convoluted. 

To get to the list of people you follow, click your name in the upper right and click 'Manage Followed Content'.

 

On the new page, left side, click 'Members'

 

That at least gives you a smaller list of things to go through.

List your friends Alphabetically or they're no easier to find than by using Search.

unlike inworld you dont really have that option here. so like what was mentioned above about the bookmarks is the best solution.

create a folder in your bookmarks called sl or secondlife. then place in it the profile page of your friends. then its easy to go to just that folder to look for who you want.
