Can we please have the Deploy plans for the Week 10.08.2020 so we know if and what happens this Week?

This is ridiculous.  The roll to Main Server channel should be starting about now, yet no detail as to WHAT we are getting?

Come on LL, communicate!

Would be nice. I was actually wondering about the last week's extra rolls, too.

A bunch (but not all) of main channel regions (including mine) got rolled onto 2020-07-29T00:01:10.545722 during last thursday's extra roll (that one: https://status.secondlifegrid.net/incidents/lmkbx553dzyx ), which is according to the last week's deploy plans is RC release. And I'm not quite sure if those regions got moved onto RC or it's just new server code got rolled onto some of the main channel regions.

I hope it's the latter, because I most definitely didn't ask for my region to be moved onto RC. I can wait longer for new features and fixes to avoid some nasty bugs like happened not even a month ago (for reference: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-229129 ).

P. S.

I was quite busy, so didn't ask live chat about those extra rolls and why my main channel region got a RC server version yet, and I also thought I'd wait for this week's rolls to see how it'll be.

Interesting! I had expected the other server version...the one that improved region crossing!  Especially as that has been seen to work!

Just goes to show that LL are more interested in their finances than in making the SL experience better for us.

I suppose I should have expected this.

Maybe that is why they have been shy about announcing it!

@steeljane42 possibly that extra roll was to regions in and around Blake Sea, so that we could sail and fly again with some likelihood of remaining on our craft.  If so, a quick post to tell us that would not have hurt them.  Now, one unpleasant thought - I dearly hope that those Main Server regions WERE moved to RC status, or they might be rolled to the other version today!

As far as I can tell it is in fact the version with improved object crossing support that got rolled to Main today. The same version that had been rolled to part of RC and the Blake Sea regions last week.

@CarlaWetter: As I understood things the version that improved region crossings was ....**722....**966 was a version to help the "uplift" to the cloud.

Now I admit I have not been sailing  for a few days, my last trip was so bad I've been avoiding Blake but today's (still unreported) roll was **966, so I don't think you are correct, but if you are I will gladly eat humble pie and sail off into the sunset!

My region is a standalone private island, so it's definitely not just mainland regions for sailing/flying testing of new region crossings. LL really could have clarified it at this point.

Update: asked live chat. My region got moved to RC for some reason (no, there's no landlord who could do that, it's my own region). Asked them to move it back, which they'll do after today's rolls are over. LL, pretty please, don't move private regions like that without any warning, there are plenty of mainland to experiment with.

@Aishagain: The new object crossing code actually is what we got from the Blake-in-the-Clouds test into RC as *966 because it helps with the "uplift". Helps vehicle crossings without a cloud uplift tooalready, but it actually came to be because the old code wasn't really working on AWS.That was the most perceptible result of the Blake test in beta for us mere mortals. Bon apetit! ;)
