Switching Viewers

I am thinking of switching to Black Dragon because of the posing feature, but I don't want to lose my chat histories. Any advice anyone???

Unless you are changing from a special Viewer like Viewer 1 or Firestorm there is not much you need to do, you can just copy your chatlogs from the corresponding folder to Black Dragon's folder.

You can find any chatlogs in: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\VIEWERNAME\firstname_lastname

and copy them to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\BlackDragon\firstname_lastname

you can also find your windlight presets in these folders, the subfolder "user_settings" contains your settings, graphic presets, camera presets, windlight presets. At least the windlight presets can be copied over as well if you make sure they are properly named. They can be specifically found in: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\VIEWERNAME\user_settings\windlight , the sky/day/water folders will contain your sky, daycycles and water windlight presets.

You can type %APPDATA% in your windows search bar and hit enter to get right into the AppData (probably Roaming subfolder) folder.

Note that for Firestorm chatlogs you must have a certain chat history option set for it to work, although i don't use Firestorm so i dont know if you have to have it on or off. All i know is Firestorm can toggle between old-style and new-style chat history naming. Black Dragon will only recognize new-style naming.

Also, i do not recommend under any circumstance to copy over your settings from any other Viewer. You will most likely break something if not outright crash the Viewer. Also DO NOT use the same cache for multiple Viewers.
