hi i have been struggling with the same problem since i came to SL. I have lost too many Shapes and I have already tried and used all the few solutions I have found on this specific one. I have tried clearing the cache and all the basics but it has gotten worse. I can not put my shape, much less modify it and now apparently I stay forever like a cloud. Does anyone know how I can get my shape back? I really don't know what to do

The first thing I would suspect is your Internet connection.  If you are losing more than a small fraction of data packets in transit, your viewer could have a hard time downloading the files that define your avatar's appearance.  The easy first steps are always to reboot both your router and your modem by unplugging them from the power for a minute or more and then plugging them back in and restarting everything. Avoid using a wifi connection to the Internet if you can, and definitely avoid a satellite connection (with will have a long ping time delay).  A direct cable connection is less likely to have interference from stray electrical fields nearby.  Consult Nalates's blog for other suggestions.

Foxy, you do need to solve the underlying problem, as Rolig suggests.

However, here's one way to get a shape back.  Go to the Marketplace, and pick up a copy of the free "Standard Mesh Sizing" shapes.  Then wear one.  Modify it as you like, and be sure to save the changes as a shape with a new name.  Save a backup copy, too.
