Well, under the main category ART I miss a sub category SL Art or Second Life Art . Or even an own main category SL Art. Right now almost each existing Art sub-category is flooded  with real life Art from porn (if you want to call that art) to all kind of paintings and photographs. I believe it could be a good idea to have a separate category that allows to list work made in SL or with SL avatars only. I think not only I would be happy about that, but all the other sl photographers, models and artists too.

Please don't think I started the post  in hope to earn more money with pictures. Actually I offer many as dollarbies for 1 Linden. And even these don't get views.
When I checked the market categories where pictures can be listed,  I noticed that first come many pages of real life art and porn content before listings of SL Art  - and not only mine - are  shown. At those hopeless positions our work stays unseen and gets dusty.  I'm convinced that an own category for SL Art could change that. Well, I'm curious to hear the opinions of other Second Life artists.

I think it is easly to see that SL Art fights a losing battle vs the overwhelming amount of real life and web content in the Art categories.

About using SL material, I would agree, but not dismissing some real element to use in a pic, like in collage technique - which I used a couple of times (with bad results, but that's my level). Moreover all those photos, uploaded as they are in real life, may violate copyright. Anyway I'm unsure if Art in SL should be only in 3D, though this may be a bit off topic... Instead I totally agree with your second post, Doc. You see items with real brands and pictures/drawings happily sold and spread around the grid. Yes, a losing battle, that's it.

I use collage technics also. But all main characters on my pictures are SL avatars. Either residents or ones which I built to serve as model. While the very most content in the Art category has absolutely nothing in common with Second Life.
