(sorry i posted this in the wrong section at first and can't delete it ! )

Hello !

i'm new on this forum :D

i'm trying to do bento animation using blender, and at the moment i'm really stuck, i downloaded a model from there http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Project_Bento_Resources_and_Information

called human male 2016 (seems old but well don't know if there is a newer version

and i followed this little video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfYG9Dq-pTA

i didn't see anything better than this tuto yet, and it's pretty poor sadly, most of the video i'm seeing on youtube use older version of blender so it makes it difficult to follow.

i would like a real step by step but it's ok, i managed to make my first animation (didn't even upload it it was just some test)

i think i can animate some little move but the animation of the finger are pretty bad, i feel the hand of the model are not enough detailed to make something looks good in second life, and i tried also mouth animation, i can open mouth but it doesn't take the lips movement too, and it doesn't take tongue movement i tried to stick tongue out, didn't work in second life.

my questions : is there a model better than this one for blender ? what is the best way to move little things like fingers, lips, tongue stuff like that ?

and another thing when i make very little animation of like 2 seconds and preview it in second life, i choose "loop", and it makes a very long animation and my character stay stuck...

anyone know a better video to learn that  ? or can someone be my teacher ? xD

sorry lots of questions ^^

thank you for your help it's difficult to stay motivated when there are not much help for something that difficult !

oooh i though i was in the animation section, i can't delete my post i think, hope someone can move it in the right place oO

thanks again !

See this thread (only a few down from your in the animation forum).   The bottom line appears to be that if you want to make BENTO poses in Blender you also need Avastar (costs either lindens or USD) add on.   You will need to export using the anim extension.   If you only want to make NON-Bento poses you can (in theory) follow the video shown in that thread.

I make mine in Blender 2.79 with Avastar.  AFAIK that's what many people use.

so if avastar is needed to make bento animation, i will take it ! i will probably come back to this topic if i have issue

Yea, it's not the only game in town anymore.  You can contact me in-world, let's have a chat.  You do not need a special tool to export "Bento" animations, but you're going to rip your hair out if you don't have one.  "Bento" seems to be  the running buzz term, but it's just a skeleton, it's not magic.
