After a small argument with the owner of a weapons store who proceeded to be extremely rude over me asking if it was possible to change a weapon's damage, I decided to browse the marketplace for another weapon seller, but even though I have blocked the owner of the previous store his junk still shows up on Marketplace search.

Is it possible to blacklist/exclude a store so it no longer shows up on Marketplace search? Additionally, is it possible to exclude certain tags or words from Marketplace search?

Thanks!

in my 13 years on being on sl there are several sellers who I wish I could do that to.. but alas I am not aware of a way.

You can't block a specific store, but you CAN exclude words.  Put NOT, in all caps, before the word you want to exclude.  As in, NOT Demo NOT mesh.

You can also use the operators AND and OR in the Marketplace Search.

Building on what Lindal said, if the store owner has their name or abbreviated version of it in the item title or description, add that to the search prefixed with NOT and that should help exclude said store.

Thanks, that worked perfectly!

I'm lazy, and almost sure it'll get the usual "can't tackle at this time" from LL as most feature requests, but I wanted to create a JIRA about it for a while. Sadly adding "NOT" to MP's search is nothing more, but a band-aid solution that is good for a one-time use and nothing else. For anything else it's close to being useless and requires a lot of efforts from the user.

For example there are a lot of stores that just buy FP landscape props and mix them "creating" different things (i.e. rocks+grass arrangement 1, 2, 3 etc, trees+shrubs arrangement 1 to 10 and so on). They often dump like 100 of their "creations" to MP at the time. Adding "NOT" with the store's name not only requires me to remember that store name, but also another 10 (or more like 50+) of them, as well as re-add them every single time I decide to search for something else.

Same goes for clothing, there are quite a few stores that I just won't buy anything from (also usually FP meshes with retextures, and some more reasons) that I'd like to blacklist once and for all, instead I have to either scroll through that stuff each time or copy-paste "NOT store1 NOT store2 NOT store15" into every search request I make.

Adding favorite stores/favorites/wishlists was a step forward and did help to clean my browser from countless MP bookmarks to stuff I liked, but they really should have added a blacklist along with it.

Far be it from me to absolve you of the sin of sloth, @steeljane42...but would it be too much trouble to make yourself a little text note?  It could say, for example, NOT Bluberry NOT LaQroki NOT Abranimations...just a list of all the stores you're peeved with.  (Note to the stores mentioned:  I am NOT peeved with you, those are just the names that came first to mind.)  Then, when you're shopping in the MP, just open your little Blacklist Note, copy it, and paste it into the MP Search window.  Whenever you find a new store you don't like, add it to your Blacklist note.

That's how I do it lately since there's no better alternative. It does work, more or less, but it's still a band-aid solution nonetheless. Instead of simply using MP's search I have to open notecard, find the category in it that I'm about to search in (no use to add NOT *store-with-landscape-stuff* if I'm looking for clothes and vice versa), and copy-paste the list. Did I close MP and then remembered that there was something else I wanted to look for? Right, open the notecard, paste the list... All that instead of just simply clicking once per store "add to blacklist" and forgetting they exist.
