Hello! I'm having a problem currently with my transaction history in my bank. In my marketplace history, it shows only one purchase for today (Friday July 17th, 2020). I used a my Paypal to buy lindens. My bank account (it's tied to my Paypal) charged my failed attempts due to an error from second life:

 

"There was a problem charging your payment method."

 

The above message was received after making multiple linden purchases. My bank history shows 7 attempts. I have also spoke to the seller of the item to see if they can help me out. Should I also speak to my bank about this? What else should I do? Who should I also contact? Thank you so much!

Something is odd.  Take a look at 

As you'll see, you can choose among several ways to bring money into SL, but none of them involve paying directly from a bank account.   You can declare an approved credit card (not a debit card or a prepaid card --- most of which do not work) or you may declare a verified PayPal or Skrill account.  That's it.  I have no idea why any charges show up in your bank account at all unless your PayPal/Skrill account has been having problems.

Hi Rolig! Thanks for your reply! I used my Paypal account to purchase my lindens. The PayPal is tied to my bank account. This explains my bank charges. Oddly, I don't see history on my Paypal account for the purchases. The extra purchases history only appears on my bank statement online.

What can I do? My bank account was charged 7 times. I want to remove those extra charges. That's what I need help with.

Yeah, that's the odd part.  I assumed that you had to be using a PayPal account because there's no way for LL to charge your bank account directly.  You ought to see transactions in the log for your PayPal account though.  If you're not, I suspect that's the first place to  look.  That seems to be with that error message means. Give PayPal a call.

Weird.

We used to advise people to transfer money from their bank account to PayPal before making a transaction with LL, because LL doesn't like to wait for money to be transferred from your bank to PayPal to them, they want instant payment.  However, people started reporting that they were not having problems with that any more.

Still, I'm thinking that might be the problem here.

First, check with PayPal and your bank.  If the bank really did transfer money to PP, it ought to show up in your PayPal balance.  If it did not, then you'll have to yell at both of them until it gets straightened out.

Once that's cleared up, be sure you do have money in your PP balance to cover your purchase of $L.  Then try buying your $L one more time.

(Never do multiple transactions once the first one fails...until you have figured out what the problem is!)
