Yes, but there was an open insinuation that others who weren't into pixel bumping, were asexual and so on were " weirdos".

Posters here keep claiming that people with no pixelbumping activities were called weirdos. Well, nope... please check your reading comprehension. Literally everyone seems to deliberately miss the "Some would prefer SL sexual activity to be removed." part.

But whatever. Just fine details, who cares.

An asexual friend of mine would not agree with you.  My understanding is that being asexual is no more "weird" than being homosexual or bi-sexual.  Granted, some asexual people still have sex, for var

Some = rare findings of weirdos crying out loud. Best ignored. Or in other words: "prudishness" is quite the least likely term I'd associate with SL.

I do actually feel sorry for the mass murderers and pedos, because they are a victim of their own desires. But they have to be eradicated, because they are destructive. We don't need or want those people in our community.

Ok and my dog can claim that if it starts climbing trees its gonna turn to a cat.

Personally i always preferred to take my SL dates to RL and have normal physical sex just like with any other woman that i either met in RL or over the internet and we liked each other. That's why i dated mostly women from my country. Online/Virtual simply wasn't what i wanted.

Of course there were a few women that i played SL with from other countries (brasil, usa, israel) but it never was to have online sex, why bother anyway,. it was about having some fun talking bs with people from other cultures.

Finally, some normal reply in this strange thread...

@Lillith Hapmouchewhat pleasure do you even get in pixel bumping?

Or is it just your mind imagining this?

And you call SL prudish people weird.

I think YOU are a pretty big weirdo yourself.

OMG!!! I never started this thread to discuss weirdness lol!!!

Threads are very sentient and go on their own path. Basically we are gonna go down a rabbit hole of different topics. That pertain to this topic. Lol.

Yeah, yours were pretty pointless with merely reading what you wished to read and assigning your limited subjective perception as the one and only true meaning.

How about you going and start a widely spread research study to gather multiple opinions instead of just nitpicking a single user's view? In world, of course, and you can ask your questions right on point while in action.

Oh, sorry, reading the answers wouldn't be your cup of tea, I forgot.

...is not remotely close to anything I've written. Instead of your dilettante bashing attempt to call me out, you might provide the quote of me stating that. I'm waiting... and actually, one's mind imagining things does play a huge part, lucky strike for you.

Roughly 2/3 of this thread was written by folks with a need to "explain" or "justify" themselves, despite them never ever being "guilty" of the originally suggested situation, because they clearly stated "hey, I don't do sexual stuff in SL, it's not my cup of tea, but ok, let others have their fun" instead of "... it must be burned and evicted, dragged out by its roots and left to rot, because I don't like it!".

What's so freaking hard about getting the difference of these complete opposites?!

Have you ever watched porn or read a bodice ripper and gotten aroused? same principle applies. Its really not that hard a concept.

What the hell is "reading a bodice ripper"?

Wait.

Never mind. I don't want to know.

So, because I don't like having sex shoved in my face inworld all the time, I'm a weirdo and a prude. Funny that, since not one person has bothered to get to know me and learn what I am really like. Oh well. Their loss.

I would be happy to get to know you. You can meet me inworld if you would like.

One person telling you they don't like sex ≠ people trying to remove sex from SL. Not sure what's the point of this discussion, especially considering "removing sex from SL" is just dumb. That's like saying they want to remove horny thoughts from teenagers when it's not even a tangible thing.

An a sexually explicit romantic novel with a historical or fantasy setting.  Sadly the descriptors are usually very lacking in imagination.. You know, the books with the bear chested guys on the covers..

Oh. The non sexual ones are known as historical or fantasy romances. Most of them are just as bad, imo. I mean, why watch it or read it when you can do it? Even if it is only in SL. 🤭

They gave Fabio a lot of work in the 80s!

Regarding OP: I understood the day I joined that SL had a booming sexual aspect to it. I know not everyone will enter this virtual world knowing that, but I at least did. It didn't interest me then and it doesn't interest me now. But it is easy enough to avoid  that aspect of the game, so I have no idea why some people would want to remove it - especially when it provides so much revenue for the Second Life economy through Market Place alone - when all you really have to do is only go to G-M sims and avoid locales that describe themselves with keywords that don't sound PG or whatever.

Just because it's not my idea of a good time doesn't mean it should exist in Second Life. That's a slippery slope.
