That is the one thing that irritates me. Is there are people who think that SL is all about sex, and will question someone what is the point in getting on if not bumping them pixel uglies. Well, the answer is quite simple, everyone logins to SL for totally different reasons.

Just gotta type faster :P

I'm using my phone for the forums! If I type faster I'll make mistakes... Because my phone will autocorrect to the dumbest things.

Also, You reminded me that I need to do a new pfp in-world, and shop a little to revive my inventory.  I went on break shortly after my 2nd rez date anniversary.. And forgot I left my login info just a click in when I let my brother have my old laptop..

Edit: He deleted my entire inventory, a lot of which was 1-shot exclusives from events.

I remember back in the "olden days" of SL when I got my first SL job as a stripper.  I would be there dancing away on stage and I would be sitting here bright red saying "omg they can see me naked!!!!"  I'm still a bit uptight about being naked in SL, which is really odd cos I am totally the reverse in my RL, but it's not quite as bad now.  I tend to keep my nudity in SL to doing erotic pictures.

Funny thing is, I got a job as a stripper (in a gay male club) within my first two months; I know this because of the datestamps on the snapshots I took there. I am totally self-conscious about being naked in RL, would never do so in front of anyone but my partner. But in SL... yeah. Never been embarrassed about that and still not. But like @Mortified Wanderer, it's all about the community. One of my fave places, where you'll find me at least three or four times a week, is an adult place. It's not my favourite because it's adult, it's my favourite because of the friends I've made there. It was exactly the same for the place I got my first job as a stripper. All about the community.

I don't understand this. Some would prefer SL sexual activity to be removed. But yet we all have RL sex. Why deny that sexuality is a part of life???

Are you an escort? I've heard a rumour that you're an escort. If it's true, I'm really scratching my head trying to work out how on earth you've managed to make this your SL focus and yet somehow come away with the impression that there are enough people who are anti pixel sex - as in, actually want it banned rather than just choosing not to do it themselves - for it to trouble you to the point of starting a thread about it. Where on earth have you been seeking business?

I do have issues with religious celibacy though.

Why. If someone shan't breed because their imaginary friends' rules say so, that's probably a good thing.

I question that myself. I prefer to avoid them.

Yes I'm an Escort lol!!! It's more than a rumour!!! I have mostly encountered the anti viewpoint here in the forums. I never go outside of A areas inworld, so I only have the viewpoint of my community. And Escorting is different than looking for free sex.

I start threads whenever I have a question. I enjoy the conversations and feedback, and I have a chance to hear other perspectives. I have started some on gold coloured pumps and SL photography.

You determined from the start that people who don't wish to allow sexual activities at all in SL cannot be understood.

You are fully correct. That is my viewpoint. I don't by any means expect anyone who comes to SL to be involved with my community. We are all here for different reasons. I also feel that people who want SL only for sexual activities cannot be understood. By that I mean excluding each other.

You are putting everyone in a big box, and saying anyone in this category cannot be understood. But really like the people who come to SL and not have sex. People who come to SL to have sex, have a plethora of reasons why. So it is easy to understand really, you just don't want to take the time to understand, IE, they are wheelchair bound and can't move their lower body. So SL allows that freedom they didn't have in RL. Another example, people wishing to explore different sides of sexuality. But they are too afraid of doing in RL, for the fact they may be ridiculed. Like people who are into BDSM, they want to hide that side of them in SL. It's very simple as I said, you just gotta take the time to actually understand.

I have stated exactly what you just did many times. Mostly inworld though. I'm in SL to experience a part of my sexuality I never would in RL  And to help others with their fantasies as well. I'm fully aware of the disabled, and those of us who provide sexual experiences help them feel human again. The club manager where I once worked told me that he was so obese in RL that he couldn't have an erection anymore. i tried to convince him to slowly work on getting his health back. That had nothing to do with sexuality, but actual RL health.

I do understand that here in the forums we can't get to know people as quickly as inworld, so we can't  understand each others reasons as clearly, or as quickly.

Why? after all sex is where children come from. With all the unprotected sex going on there should be far more children running around.

In Second Life, the ones having da sex in real life (ie me) just don't see the need to come into Second Life for this particular activity

Speak for yourself. Second Life sex isn't a replacement for in-person sex, it's a way to explore fantasies, identities, and ideas outside your real life sexual identity and activity.

Yes. Because this is a user-created world. People can choose to indulge in sexual hijinx to make the Romans blush, or they can choose to live chaste lives entirely. The site doesn't focus on anything - it's the users that focus on things.

I am indeed speaking for myself. Isn't that the whole point of a discussion on a forum?  The OP was trying to understand something, I was giving my opinion, because that's all anyone can do on a forum, unless they are actually qualified to give out facts, which none of us are here, at least I am not seeing any certificates of accreditation or anything.

I would not call it being prudish, I would call it social or cultural upbringing. There are many people here in sl that probably see sex as only for procreation and not for pleasure or simple fun and enjoyment that others might use it for. So to them all the sex in sl my seem distasteful or disrespectful.

That sex out of marriage should not happen or be allowed. None of this really matters, what matters if what the new investors think about it. If they are bible belt thumpers or not. If they are they may indeed decide to limit or reduce sl sex and how easy it can be seen or done by others here. And if they do there is nothing anyone can do about it, for they will have that choice and power and no one will have any right to tell them any different.

They could decide that maybe sl needs to be cleaned up in their eyes and made less a cesspool of sexual depravity in their eyes. That sl should be more family and teen friendly to open it to more people that may stay away because of all the sexual depravity/bdsm that happens here in sl.

They could decide that only premium members can enter adult regions, thus monetizing the sex and making it less available for anyone that is not a premium or vip member. They could even decide to regulate it and escorts and that anyone who works as one has to pay some sort of fee for being one. That anyone running a sim for sex or bdsm purposes only will have a higher fee. Should they do any of this, again its their choice and no one can really tell them any different. Either you accept the change or you leave.

or

maybe none of the above will happen and everyone is just worrying for nothing.

A wise person told me, that those who brag about sex probably don't get much! So, hopefully we don't need to worry about them procreating.

I agree. I would be surprised at a "cleanup" though. I would like to think that the new investors have properly done their research before making such an investment. It appears that my community (Adult) is quite large, and losing us would result in a significant financial hit. Hopefully they have had separate teams focusing on different aspects to assess the viability. Inworld experience would or should have been be one important aspect as well.  Of course I am a prime example of the cesspool of sexual depravity lol!!! No underage though!!!

Rumors inworld suggested that there may be a degree of change to reflect the laws of California with regards to the depiction of sex. Moving to the cloud might actually be a workaround for the investors.

I would be surprised though if they were bible belt thumpers.  Why the interest in something that has a large Adult community if they are disgusted by it? I don't go to places that don't interest me SL or RL.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all. I'm just putting in my two cents worth!!!

Perhaps they might be the kind of bible belt thumper that thinks they need to clean up the world. Some investors do get involved in things just to shut them down or change them for what they feel is the better of humanity.

As toward the cloud it would not really be a work around because depending upon where they kept the base of operations for sl, they would still be bound by that states regulations and laws as to what was allowed in sl.
