So weird. I saw the same thing happen in the Atoll area (near the Busiris SIM) about a week ago, it was early in the morning and all the open water SIMs had 8-11 avatars on them across 8 different water SIMs, mostly stacked up on each other (not crop circles). All of the accounts were under 1 year old and looked like default avatars.

I keep seeing these.  What really gets me is that whomever is running these has to have some pretty crazy bot set up going.  They all teleport together in groups and there are soooo many of them.  Bot software is probably lower resource usage than a single full viewer but it still feels like a lot of dedicated resources and scripts to run what is probably hundreds of them.

Years ago, when I went to investigate a similar bunch, the avatars were all naked, but there was at least one avatar aware enough to text me that it was none of my business when I asked what they were doing.

These seem to be clothed, and there are no reports of them communicating with outsiders. Are they chatting on private channels? Are they test dummies for some new Linden project?  Has anyone tried infiltrating the group by putting on the same avatar and trying to blend in?

They are Tiny Empires bots. You can enter their name in the TE website and trace them back to their main (owner). They are used to game the TE system in some way, in other words cheat, though I've forgotten the details on what it achieves.

I personally enjoy rezzing a large truck or tank on the sea floor and mowing them down.
