Trying to create event but getting duplicate error, but have no events

Hi everyone - thanks for reading,

I'm trying to create my first event, but am running into issues. I fill out the Community:Events page and hit 'save' but then get the error message of  " The event you are entering is a duplicate of an existing event..."

This is my first event, and when I check 'my events'  there is nothing there. I am also the only owner of the venue I am trying to create an event for, so no-one else has created it. I checked the upcoming events in the viewer, and mine is not listed there. I tried to change the title, but get the same results.

Does anyone have an advice as to what Im doing wrong?
