Upload Texture Error - You don't have permission to open this file

I have successfully uploaded textures before but for some reason, I am no longer allowed. Every time I attempt to upload a texture I receive the following error message:

{filename}
You don't have permission to open this file.

Contact the file owner or administrator to obtain permission.

 

Any idea why this would be happening and how I can fix it?

Make sure that the texture you are trying to upload is really the filetype you think it is. If, for example, you somehow managed to rename "ABC.zip" to "MyNewTexture.png" then upload will not work because the viewer will check the real file type.

But the same will happen if you have, for example, renamed "MyTexture.GIF" to "MyTexture.JPG".

If it is neither of these things, then make sure that the folder where your file is is not read-only, or set to a different owner than you.

Move those Photos from whatever location you have them stored to your "My Documents" folder or at your" Desktop" of your PC and try again.
