0 Ansariel Hiller
The maximum number of avatars per mainland region is 40. There is no restriction per parcel. EDIT: How is this thing sorted??? *Grrrr* @Peewee: If people have set their home there, they will always be able to TP into that sim, even if the avatar limit has been reached or exceeded. EDIT 2: Actually not so new. This worked for me already 2 years ago. But only if you use the TP home function. If you try to walk in or use a regular TP it doesn't work. 0 LoveAngeL Lyre
Hello Falken. Mainland max. # of agents Full region - 100 - Historically set to 40 by LL but this does vary. Some meeting areas have this set to 60 and higher. Recent server performance improvements make regions with 60 agents in them perform quite well excepting the issue described in SVC-3895[c]. 0 Peewee Musytari
The limit per sim is at the default 40, but be wary of your neighbours, there is nothing more annoying that a club in a residential area that hogs all the avatar limit so people can`t TP home because the sim is full or a shop that customers can`t get to & on top of that causes lag. Be considerate & check what else is on the sim that you could be causing a negative impact on. @ Ansariel, is that a new thing? I once had a 4096 on a sim where "Free Sex Land" opened (groan) and could never get there. Even trying to walk from the neighbouring sim I would just bounce off the sim wall. Couldn`t sell the land either, for obvious reasons, ended up abandoning it....Not fun That was a few years back now though.
0 Ceera Murakami
A 4096 m2 parcel is pretty small for a "club". Think about it this way - you own 6.25% of the land in that sim, and a sim can only handle 100 avatars max (if it's a private island sim) and Mainland is set to 40 Max avatars in almost all cases. So on Mainland you could have 2.5 people on your parcel and be using no more than the share of resources that you're actually paying for. There's no parcel-based limits for the number of avatars on the parcel, so you could cram 40 people into your "club", at the expense of everyone else in that sim not being able to access the land and resources that they are paying for. That is one reason why many residents really despise having a "club" appear as a new neighbor. To be fair to your neighbors, you should buy enough land in that sim to cover the resources you intend to use. So if you think your club will be a small affair that will average 10 people at a time, you should own 1/4 of the whole sim. If you want to party hearty with 40 people at a time, you should buy all the land in the sim. Doing less than that is leeching off the neighbors, and stealing resources that others are paying for. 0 PeterCanessa Oh
Streams are a different matter though - all SL does is pass the IP address of the stream to your viewer and then all the work is done between your machine and that server. As such, the number of concurrent listeners is only limited by your streaming server.
