Akamacroman
Since the new upgrade of the SL viewer yesterday, some friends are complete invisible for me. Am I the only one with that problem?
TDD123
Not using the official SL viewer, but look up in Preferences a setting like the one above to always render your friends.

TDD123
Might be the case that some of your friends exceed ARC values beyond what is accepted by your viewer. Try to find out how high their ARC is. Maybe they can bring it down somewhat for you.
Nalates Urriah
The new update works well. No problem with avatar rendering. OPen Preferences->Graphics->Advanced Settings and look for Maximum Complexity. By default the value is 350,000. People I know generally keep the setting between 100k and 150k with a few on newer computers raising it to 200k. It is a performance thing. But, exceeding this value an avatar turns into a jelly doll. Something still renders. I went to a Safe Hub full of newbies. I turned the setting down to 30k to see if some were not rendering. They are all still jelly dolls. So, I suspect the problem is something to do with you. You can try right-clicking them and selecting how you prefer to render them. This is a session to session setting. There is also a setting in Preferences->Graphics to enable labeled Always Render Friends. You can try that.
