-200 error when uploading a picture

Last few days I have been getting a lot of -200 error pop up when trying to upload a picture. Is that a known issue, my side only, or forums having troubles?

I often get that error when trying to upload animated GIF. And the size does not exceed the 4.88 MB limit. I have no idea why that error pops up.

Have been testing a bit earlier. It can happen 100% of the time with a specific file (screenshot,) and when I pick another one it just uploads. Go back to the previous one, fails again. Both around 2 mb size.

Must be something in the file specifics, but cant see what. Same file format, both direct SL screenshots, no editing or any changes to the file.

Try and small edit on it, maybe just a tiny crop & re-save.

Tried it and seemed to work. But today I am trying to post in the new picture topic, actually posting a picture I posted before a week ago in another topic, and it gives me the error again. Editing making it smaller, same error. Quite frustrating really. Never happened to me till it started about a week ago.

Hi, anyone having issue uploading picture to flickr account? need help can't upload . it said not connected to flickr . Tried to connect nothing happened , no popped window or something . Been having this issues three days ago. Thank you in advance for any help. Getting frustrated.

Still having the problem that most of the picture I try to upload will finish the progress bar, then wait, feels like a timeout, and pop up "error -200". Seriously, error description need some attention. The idea of an error message is it gives a suggestion of what went wrong.

Save the orignal .PNG file into a lower quality .JPG file and it uploads like a charm

lower the resolution of the picture ,it could be to high for the forums.

towards the error description, not all of them have detailed reasons behind them and not all forum admins care about going in and changing it so they would. they might not even understand why its doing it themselves.

That -200 error message pops up even when the image file size is well below the maximum allowed size 4.88 MB. So it's something else than the file size issue. I get that error often with animated GIF files. Again, the file size is well below the max 4.88 MB.

@Linden Lab What is this -200 error which pops up randomly when trying to upload images to the forum? Any fix in sight?

it could be a scale issue as well. maybe the picture is out of scale compared to what the forum allows, to big one direction or the other. some forums do limit the x/y scale and anything above is rejected. its not always just about the file size aka Mb, but the picture dimensions too.
