IanLeigh 2
the most annoying thing for me in SL is hitting the "e" key when not in a text chat causes my avatar to jump. I have looked within Firestorm and cannot find a place to remove that hot key. So I went and found the Keys.xml, and another keys xml file and edited them. But the "e" key is still locked to make my avatar jump. How can I change/remove that? Thank you,
KT Kingsley 718
In Firestorm, go to Preferences/Move & view/Movement and uncheck the option "Pressing letter keys affects movement…" option. This does, however, disable all the WASD movement keys.
IanLeigh 2
Balls, you're saying there's no way to fix this. Thank you
KT Kingsley 718
I'm not saying that, I'm just saying there's that setting, which is all I know. You could try to get into the habit of pressing Enter immediately before you try to chat.
NiranV Dean 1,131
Keys.xml file is what you are looking for, however you probably edited the wrong mode. You need to find all modes and edit out the E key to jump. There's First and Third Person where jump can be found.
ZackWesker 0
You can make a blank gesture for the jump key like this https://gyazo.com/56957ccc1d578b22263b510515e27f34
KT Kingsley 718
There's this SL project viewer in the pipeline: https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/viewer.html >> https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/viewer/6.4.5.544079.html that's called "Project Custom Key Mappings", which may be relevant sometime in the future.
