“Vertex number over 65534, Abort!”

I just started using Blender 2.8 and this is the third time im making something and trying to upload it to SL but I get this error. I tried using Firestorm, SL Viewer and that third one S something. They all give me that same mistake. The object itself has 15.000 verts and i don’t really understand why the hell is SL forbidding me to upload it. Can someone help please?

I had the same issue with another large file. If you're importing from blender, trying unchecking triangulate. That might be causing excessive number of verts to be created.

It is possibly due to how SL splits vertices. While blender may say 15,000 vertices, any seams in the UVs, or non-uniform normals will cause a vertice split.

Too add to the list, materials/faces may need vertice splits too.

Add to this UV islands.

In addition if your object is not using smooth shading, you are getting at least one vertex splits on every single vertex.

I fixed the problem. Turned out there was way more vertex than ot showed in Blender. I did retopology and uploaded mesh normally.
