Try the basic clearing your cache and relogging and resetting your modem and/or router.  If that doesn't fix it then we need some information about your computer, your Internet connection and home network (if you use one).  To get your basic computer specs launch SL and on the log in screen click the "Help" menu.  Click "About Second Life" and you'll see your computer specs as reported by your viewer to the servers...........copy those specs and paste back here.

Hello Misty. At first before change outfit be sure that ALL your items in your inventory are fully loaded. Open your inventory, type 2-3 characters in filter there and wait fecthing all your items. After you are ready to change outfit. Also is good to move to a region with less lag. Protected lands arround are the best if you have problems.

Something else you can do is to test your avatar: In Viewer 2 give the command: Menu Develop (Ctrl+Alt+Q) --> Avatar --> Character Tests --> Test Male / Female. Normally it touches up your problem immidiately.

If the problem remains recommended to clear your cache manually:

(XP) - C: \ Documents and Settings \ (USER NAME) - Application Data \ SecondLife and
C: \ Documents and Settings \ (USER NAME)\ Local Settings \ Application Data \ Second Life

(Vista) - C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ AppData \ Roaming \ SecondLife and
C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ ApplData \ Local \ Secondlife

(Win 7) - C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ AppData - Roaming \ SecondLife and
C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ AppData \ Local \Secondlife

Delete everything in those folders and restart first your computer and after the program. Usually the folder Appdata is a hidden folder. (Windows Tools \ Folder Options \ View & enable Show Hidden Files/Folders)

Good luck and let us know if you need more help.
