You can buy a rez box system.  They range from free to over $L500.  Even the most expensive one is a lot less than you would pay to have someone script it from scratch.

Search for "Rez box", "Rez-foo", or "Rez Faux".

If you want to learn to create one yourself, it's almost entirely scripting, not building.  I can't tell you in detail how to script it, but I can tell you basically how it works.  There is a script that you place into each prim, or each linkset, of your build.  The script records the relative position and rotation of the piece of the build.  Once all the pieces have had the script added, they're taken into your inventory.  Then you rez a fresh copy of the rez box itself (the object doesn't have to be fancy...a plain cube is fine.)  You drag each prepared piece from your inventory and load it into the rez box.

The box has another script in it which, when told to by the user clicking a menu item, rezzes each piece in its contents in their original relative positions.

And aside from refinements like setting the correct permissions, a de-rezzing function, and a "lock" function to dis-associate the pieces from the rez box, so it can then be deleted...that's it.
