Access List is Greyed out

I just got my prem membership last night.  I am trying to add my boyfriend  in the access list but it is greyed out.   What am I doing wrong

You can't deed a Linden Home to Group and you can't set it for group or list access only so you can't use the Access list, only the Ban list. Setting the land to Access only creates banlines for everyone else and these are prohibited in Linden Homes These features are deliberately disabled.

What you can do is this: 

1) SET (not Deed) the land to your group, and make sure your boyfriend is a member of the group. He will be able to set his home location there, and he will also be able to rez items as long as he is wearing the correct group tag at the time. Those items will not be auto-returned. You can give him other rights like changing parcel stream and other stuff by adding and removing abilities to his role in the group. Make him an Officer, not an Owner - if you make him an Owner you can never reverse that if you break up.

2) Click your Linden Home control panel and select Access List, and add his name to the list. This means that he will be able to open and close doors and windows in your home. I think it also allows him to redecorate (change house textures and colours) but I am not 100% sure on that.
