Sorciaa
1, decide on what your going to be, then check the MP for a good skin. They should tell you all the parts you need ie the head, ears, tail and then if the skin applier is omega, or BOM , or if its for a specific body, like the regalia. if you have any other questions, shoot me an IM in game and I can try and help ya out.

Maitimo
There are several ways to get a furry avatar without having to get a custom-made mesh model made. 1) Complete mesh pre-made avatar. A good example of these is Jomo. They are usually not compatible with regular clothes and their options for customisation are extremely limited, but they look darn good. Example: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/JOMO-Werewolf-V41-Female-D/9731976 2) Complete system pre-made avatar. These are made for system bodies and have a system skin, but you can also use them with a mesh body instead, if the mesh body is Bakes-on-Mesh enabled. They usually have mesh parts such as head, paws etc and can be modified to some degree. Example from Dark Spot: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Furry-German-Shepherd-Natural/6125809 3) Build from parts. In this case you'll buy the skin, head, paws etc all separately and modify them to match. You can buy "mod kits" which usually include a skin, matching tail and appliers for heads and paws. The mod kit will tell you which head, paws and bodies they are compatible with, and you need to buy those separately. Example: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/o-Fox-Natural/17982156 Whichever one of these options you choose, a good up-to-date furry avatar will cost somewhere between L$800 and L$3000 depending on quality, but there are plenty of older, much cheaper, even free ones around if you don't mind sacrificing some quality.
