If you love where you are already , or the new cabins aren't your style what are your plans and goals for the next months in Bellisseria?

I've been a bit knocked off track by world events and I'd love some inspiration from fellow residents.

I'm guessing some of you will use the big release as a chance to snag some abandons in great locations? Will you be spending time making over your current home. or are you so happy with how it is now that you are back to regular SL stuff using your Belli home as a base?

I'd like to try a different style of furniture / decor for our houseboat, something different for us I mean, but it's currently feeling a bit overwhelming and I'm not sure where to start, or seek inspiration.

It would be great to explore the landscape of the new continent, maybe road-trip style!

I am going to decorate both a Victorian and a boat - explore in all the ways you can and take some photos. Build non related stuff alongside Bellisseria things - with my linden home definitely my base and community. Emphasis really on decor, exploration, building and photography and keeping an eye on whatever theme arises after log homes. I will probably click on a log home to see what the pack holds and to try it out :)

Even after I try out the log homes, I still know I am going to have the urge to do the nomadic thing.   Trying out different locations and trying out parcels and seeing where they take me with my decorating and then letting them slowly go at some point.

Until the new themes are all revealed I think I will be a gypsy for the time being.

I love the Bellisseria homes I have now, and they are pretty much decorated how I want them. I'm not interested in any new releases, so for the past couple of weeks I've drifted elsewhere. I found I had 512 sq m land allowance I wasn't using on one of my alts, so spent some time land hunting on Mainland till I found a great little parcel on a hilltop there. I also picked up a beach cottage rental on a private estate that I am an estate manager on, so am currently spending my time decorating outside of Belli. :)

I love the seaside Victorians, and just got one that backs onto the ocean. My big plan is to get a train. I haven't joined the Train Engineers list yet but it's on my erm...list :)

So yes, planning on exploring more of Belli via train or something else that uses the tracks. Happy to take passengers in the future but can't guarantee that I won't accidentally crash at the beginning! 😄

Early this morning, before the big release, I exhausted my 5 homes on each of the 2 accounts that don't currently own Linden Homes -- trying to get better locations.

With all of the abandons that have happened on the older themes, I am somewhat tempted to bump up another few accounts to keep trying.

Since December I have just been...

...

Actually using my Linden Home.

I know, weirdo, freak, revolutionary, possibly even insane.

But for me the game of houses was just a search for one. And there's no point in having one unless I use it.

...

I am using 1 alt to see if I can get a log cabin good enough to replace my existing Victorian. I don't actually care for the Victorian layouts, but my location there is ideal so I kept it for that. There is one log cabin with a layout I like, but I see only a small handful of regions I'd be OK being on. So I will very quickly know if this is possible, and if not just stay in my Vic - that alt is sub'd by the month because I expect the search will be over by tomorrow or Friday.

I know that I won’t be a permanent resident of the log cabin regions. I grabbed a couple (let the second one go) to have the experience. Deep in my heart, I hope I’ll land an ocean view Vic, as folks are letting go of their current homes in favor of the new ones.

An addendum to my previous statement--my alt got a sweet river view, so I might try my hand at decorating the Grandview. It seems like there are two houses there. I took the suggestion seriously to not change styles. I've got two doors and two windows on top of each other. The blinds tend to flicker. Maybe the previous owner abandoned for that reason. I'll wait a couple days to see if things get sorted out.

Me either, I grabbed one and will give it a go.  I think they are just lovely and I love the landscaping, but I think I am more geared towards the trads & vics.   I really love that they are slowly giving us more choices in themes!

Well.. I gave up my Trad a few weeks ago. Just didn't want to use ALL my free tier at one location. I went radical and got a GOOD price on 512sqm Mainland parcel which is developing well for me. Then nabbed a trailer for awhile to use as main home... tho been hopping camper abandons today (count is 4, I think!!) I thought there were some 512 houseboats, but none have come up.

So for now sticking with camper that's two-sided by larger river/water (only one neighbor). Also it has a Rez Zone boat dock right next to me, how HANDY! Am sticking with my Mainland too... just putting finishing touches on a new Billiard Parlor there! (see my picks, btw).

Don't get me wrong.. I do absolutely LUV Bellisseria continent but don't want all my eggs in that one basket. Mainland does have its problems, which makes finding a decent location difficult, although it offers other opportunities too.

Come June I will be letting go of my additional account's premium. She's currently holding a trad, but i'll keep my Vic on Dimanche. Don't care too much for the cabins, but if a theme comes up later that tickles my fancy I may pick my alt's premium up again.

I'm a little disappointed with the log cabins.  They are not log cabins.  They don't have logs.  They have clapboard.  Not at all as rustic as I imagined they would be.  This looks like an expensive Tahoe suburb to me.  And while they are beautiful, they are not me.

The only 512 parcels are the campers. The houseboats are 1024 parcels, so they come with 351 land impact. Your camper location sounds wonderful.

Nothing's changed for me. I'm still in my Well Springs home as  I have been since that region was released several months ago with no plans to move any time soon.

I will admit I was tempted to test run the log cabins if only short term, for a month or so just to get a change of scenery if nothing else. I absolutely loved the environment shown when I visited the RFL display but most of the homes themselves (while gorgeous) are too big for my personal taste, as were most of the Victorians before them. Before recent world events I had entertained the idea of bumping my house hunting alt back up to Premium but since my finances are now considerably strained I can't justify doing that.

My current home has felt right since I caught it and it ticks all the boxes I had when originally trying to catch a Linden Home; beach, sand, well landscaped. The fact I only have one neighbour beside me is definitely a bonus too (as I get more uninterrupted ocean views). On top of that it was hinted a while ago on a Lab Gab episode that the LDPW may go back and add something as a surprise to the Traditionals (the idea was suggested that a couple of other style homes may become available from the Traditional mailbox) - and while that won't happen any time soon I'm intrigued to see what that is, if it even eventuates. As much as I like the idea of seeing what's out there I know I would absolutely kick myself if I lost my land and later discovered I could have had a different home style on it. Of course that's no guarantee. And while I occasionally see a home on my explorations and get home-envy at the end of the day I like my home where it is now and I feel settled where I am.

Regarding decorating, I used to redecorate a lot. This current set-up is probably the longest time I've ever left my interior alone in any home I've ever had in SL without redecorating except for adding or editing the occasional object. To me that in itself says a lot. I spend a lot of time at home too not just when I am AFK or on the Marketplace or on external programs. As crazy as this sounds I actually enjoy just spending time at home even if all I'm doing is sitting with Riley or the occasional friend. Full credit to the region landscapers; it's a lovely place to just sit and do nothing in (just watch the water and hear it with a parcel-restricted sound orb rezzed in the back yard). As odd as it sounds with the real world a little unstable right now at least there's peace in the familiarity of my virtual world.

TL,DR: I'm staying where I am.

I am going back to basic membership in a couple of weeks. I definitely enjoyed my early times in Belli and especially the opening day. Wouldn't have wanted to miss it. But still not willing to "agree" to the Tilia TOS and US privacy policy so I cannot turn lindens into the dollars needed to pay for the premium membership. But I did have ONE year at premium :D  so now I have had that experience.

For now I think me and my partner will stay in the Victorian home. But I got a horse a little while ago and the new areas have nice trails to ride so I'll do a lot of exploring there. Maybe eventually shop for an even better Victorian location. We are now between a little woodsy park and a large pond so it feels a little risky to leave that, but a sea view home is a dream.

I have put a fair bit of effort into a Tahoe home and I cannot see is as easy to move, with all the extra bits I have built and scattered around. The new Log Homes might be a good substitute, but the whole home hopping thing feels a bit strange to me. Especially now, with RL as it is, that old-style Linden Home works as a refuge for me.

I am not even clear on what process i would have to use, packing up furniture, relinquishing the old Linden Home, and taking a new one. I reckon Tuesdays and Wednesdays could be awkward days.

You've likely got another 1-1.5 years before you'll have to vacate the Tahoe.  My rough guess anyway, based on 5 themes already released, out of the 8 or maybe even 10-12 that we'll end up with.

It's not difficult to 'move'... Although there's disorganized and more orderly ways. The quickest, disorganized method is to go to About Land and click Abandon Land. ALL your belongings then automatically dump back into your Inventory, usually in Lost&Found folder where some things 'combine' with others. Any combined things will re-rez on new property when taken out and dropped ( within you new boundaries).

The organized method is to right click each of your items and Take then into Inventory. Items will 'go back' into the folder they originated from... If not will end up in Object folder. Once you have collected all your things... Then Abandon Land, it's IMMEDIATE! But you won't be kicked out anywhere, you'll remain standing in place.

To get you to 'new place', go to the Account Page... Drop-down at top left. Click the New Home thing on right side... And go go thru process of picking your new place... At end you click prompt 'Take Me To New Home' and it will send a TP to your viewer... And poof off you go!

When you get to New home, don't forget to go to World drop-down to Set Home Here. If not your Home landing remains at your old Linden. (Account Page will give you another TP... If needed)

Then ALL that's left to do is Start decorating!!! (One item at a time from Inventory)

Btw some pictures of old place, before packing, may be nice for references and memories!!

Could you sell your lindens to a friend and get USD in PayPal?
