Second Life Server:

https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/simulator/2020-03-20T18:40:52.538914.html

Scheduled Tuesday 2020-03-31 03:00-09:00 PDT

Second Life RC:

https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/simulator/2020-03-27T23:25:44.539377.html
Scheduled Wednesday 2020-04-01 07:00-10:30 PST (no joke!)

On Region Restarts:
Regions will be restarted if they have been running for more than 10 days on Tuesday (Main Channel) and Wednesday (RCs) regardless of whether or not new code is being deployed, for the general health and well being of the Simulators. Nothing beats turning it off and then on again ... once in a while.

As always please plan events around these maintenance windows. However, if you are hosting an event on Tuesday or Wednesday when we're not deploying new code, you can restart your region ahead of time to avoid interruptions.

Also, I don't recall llTargetedEmail() having any discussion in any of the UG's or any feature request filed on the jira.

Funny how the only regions the function exists in on aditi don't allow people to save scripts.

So a function of unknown intent, operation and lack of public testing is suddenly being put on an RC on agni.

After looking at the TARGETED_EMAIL_ROOT_CREATOR & TARGETED_EMAIL_OBJECT_OWNER constants used, I question why there was even "time to tackle" this function.

And I bet it's conveniently too late for any changes to its operation now that it made it this far without any public awareness.

I just did a region restart on my sim about 5 hours ago, I usually do it every Tuesday but once I forgot and it was done for me on a Friday. If you own your own land, full sim/region, then you have full rights, it's not fair if you have those full rights intervened with. Please I would much appreciate it, if I were informed in future so I can be aware of this but as I say, I do usually do a region restart on Tuesdays.

Umm just a reminder that it is Linden Lab that owns and operates the grid. We just get to play here. It's up to you to inform yourself about server deploys and other grid-wide happenings which you can do by referring to Second Life Grid Status. There are also viewer tools to make that easier for you, or you can follow the forum threads. Server deploys are weekly events (almost always Tuesdays and Wednesdays with some exceptions) that have been going on for years and years and years.

Err..Samitra, Willow WAS being nice and polite. From my experience in SL many folk are a great deal LESS THAN nice, so a polite reminder such as hers makes a pleasant change.

Uhmm, yes the grid that LL owns and operates. I actually have a problem with my memory known as Ischeamic disease on my brain, so please understand that when you have memory issues, a polite correspondence doesn't hurt ok?

My point is that Linden Lab owns the grid, so your claim that it's unfair for them to intervene with your restart plans is irrelevant. If the Lab has plans to update the server code, they are going to update the server code. The rest was information as to how to keep yourself informed of when certain events occur, or other grid-wide events. Information you seemed to be unaware when you requested an invitation to be informed of any restarts. I don't know why you found this response impolite, nor do I understand why you found it necessary to play the "medical card" as an after thought. I provided information. Do with it what you will.

@Samitra64I do not know if you know that you can activate a button in both the Lindenviewer and the Firestorm (right-click on an Icon in the toolbar -> toolbar buttons -> Gridstatus), which, as Willow Wilder said, flashes you for current information in the Grid status draws attention. So you are always up to date when it comes to activities that Linden Labs has in mind. Activate this button to rule out further problems. And Willow Wilder was really more than friendly in her answer, which I fully agree with because she agrees with my opinion.

Thank you for your sincere empathic reply. Other than that, I am not even going to respond. Have a good day.
