Hello all :)

I have created a club so I can give her the role of officer but cant work out how to move her from member to officer.

How do I achieve this?

Also, I made the mistake of shopping for clothes demos with her and accidentally purchased herbs and vegetable fatpac :(

How do I give her permission to place the items in my home?

To make her an officer on your group, go to the group profile, Members and Roles tab. I think the Officer role is already created by default but if not, click on Roles then New Role, and make one. All you need to do here is give the role a title that suits Mrs Housekeeper, then you go to the Members tab, click on her name and tick the box at the bottom to add her to the role.

Rezzing on your land will depend on whether you have bought mainland, got a Linden Home or if you are renting. If you've bought the land, and it's owned solely by you, or if its a Linden Home, then all you need to do now is go to About Land, and set (not deed) your land to your group. Once you've done that, Mrs Housekeeper will also be able to rez her own items on the land (make sure she has the group tag active over her head to set the object to the right group). At this point you can go through the abilities given to that role to ensure that Mrs Housekeeper has all the abilities she needs to run an efficient household.

If you are renting land, or if you have Estate (private island) land, the land will already be set to a different group. In this case you will also have to add Mrs Housekeeper to that group as well.

Just a note that not all private island land is already set to a group.  I leave it up to my tenants to decide whether to keep it in their name or set/deed to a group.

I think it's all been said already!

My five alts use one e-mail. I have a family group and at my old Linden home they can all open shopping and use it as home base.

I've had three viewers running on my best laptop, but the lag is epic so it only works for taking photos. Two is manageable, but it sometimes crashes.

Mrs Hudson is now in place as head of household.

She has already brought much needed order to the house, a gentleman without a house keeper is in a perpetual state of chaos, as one would expect.

Now there is a semblance of order within my home, I would like to equip her with the very best body modifications to assist in her work.

Would anyone be so kind as to recommend some steampunk or Victorian stores that sell high quality body mods?

I am especially interested in the marvellous mechanical and manikin like body parts I have seen on the forums  :)

I have a decently powerful PC and am having no difficulty running both at max setting :)

You may run into problems with Victorian style dresses and mechanical arms and other parts because there’s no way to hide one of the sleeves, etc and you may have some of the same kinds of poke-through issues you’ve already experienced. You can always get her a key to wear on her back in the meantime if you want her to be a clockwork, there are lots. Maybe if you could show us a picture of the type of mechanical parts you’re looking for it would be easier to recommend some more things. There’s a dizzying array of all kinds of implants, prosthetics and add-ons. It’s just kind of hard to figure out the keywords in order to find them sometimes. You said that there were some examples?

I second the Maitreya body for the most selection/compatibility But with add-ons you’ll need to read the description and try the demo to figure out the best fit. A lot of things are modifiable, but somethings are rigged and only have a limited amount of fit ability via the appearance modification  sliders. Another thing that I have noticed is that there are a lot of ‘no copy‘ parts for sale, and those commonly do not have any demos at all and many of them are not modifiable either. If they are modifiable, and you mess it up… Well they are ‘no copy‘ so it stays broken unless you know how to fix it. Proceed with caution on those by watching what the permissions are, I suggest mod and copy permissions for these kinds of add-ons.

Ah, in the era of mesh, it is actually more difficult than ever to use body attachments plus a mesh gown, unless they are made to be worn together.

We have the obvious things like a fascinator, goggles, glasses, monocle, breathing mask and jewelry. These can be added to the head itself. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Wiccas-Wardrobe-Aki-Mask-No-1-BOXED/16411884

My thoughts is that pure steampunk was popular in SL some years ago, before mesh. So it is a lot made by stores like Grim Bros, for classic avatars.

It is hard to find bodyparts, in your case I would say you need a short sleeved dress for an arm. (I think just one arm is more cool that both). https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/DEMO-Arsinoe-Arm/18864118

Or two: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Wiccas-Originals-Eagleden-Arms-female-ADD/18682727

If you want one mechanical arm and something else for the other, your best option would be a long-sleeved BoM top.

On a Lark has arm warmers, and to the best of my knowledge they are separate, left and right. They go almost up to the shoulder.

Sad that OAL's other sleeves and gloves are in one part, you wear both arms the same time. Or else, their Lace sleeves would be 100% what you want.

Here are the other SL viewer clients that you can use. Radegast is a text only viewer so it doesn't use any of your graphics card's resources. It's useful if you don't make your alt move around that much. You can also just install a different graphical viewer and set it to minimum graphic detail. Having two different viewers allows you to quickly launch the alt without having to change the login or settings.

ContraptioN's "SK3L3T0 Series Prosthetic Arm" enables you to have only the hand showing. Multiple metal colours, too. I wore it with that exact same dress (using a male avatar, but it also contains female body fits for Maitreya, Slink F & HG, and Belleza Freya) in the below image and it fitted perfectly -

Thank you all ever so much. I now see the difficulty in not being able to hide parts of an outfit that was not designed to do so, or arms that do not allow you to hide all but the hands :)
