CrypticQuiet
I've been building in second life for a few years now. I always used 3dsmax but have recently switched to Blender. Everything has gone smoothly except for my baked textures. They end up looking like this with these odd jagged looking edges. Anyone know the fix? Christhiana
I can give you some general tips to prevent ugly edges when baking textures. - Make sure that straight lines are also straight on your UV map. - Make sure you bake your texture with a margin of at least 6 pixels - Use a separate model for your texture baking that includes extra geometry where edges meet (e.g. where the corner edge of the door meets the doorframe) to prevent the bleeding of dark shadows. Christhiana
One more tip. Make sure you snap your vertices to pixels on the UV map.
Kyrah Abattoir
You also might want to bake at a higher than normal resolution and then shrink the texture with gimp/photoshop, the bake renderer operates a bit differently from the normal scene renderer.
