Question

So i edited a windlight in the Firestorm viewer and then saved it. I then applied it to my parcel via the code in the description field. How can i now share this windlight with my neighbour so they can have their parcel set to it as well and others can see it. I hope i worded this right.

The only way that others can see your personally made (or altered) setting is to give them the file that you made. You could email or put up on a file sharing site. I did this OH so many years ago when I was making new Windlights daily and blogging about them. Now they are in the third party viewers.

Note though that when EEP gets to be the norm for the viewers, your new sky may not look the same.  THEN (in theory) you will be able to share the  EEP "Windlight" easily.   I haven't kept up with EEP but that was part of the original intent.

They will once EEP is integrated into the viewer they are using.

If what you did was edit a local file on your system to set the parcel windlight, then only people who have that file (with the same name) are seeing that now (this is how the Firestorm parcel windlight works; everyone must have a copy on their own system).

Thank you very much. Back to the drawing board for me then :)

If you made a new Windlight preset the viewer saved it in an XML file. You can find the XML file and copy paste the text inside the file into a note card and give your friend the note card. Your friend needs to paste the text into a file and name it [something].XML and put it in the correct Windlight folder.

It is possible to share Windlight now. It just isn't easy.

File location: C:\Users\[User_Name]\AppData\Roaming\Firestorm_x64\user_settings\windlight\[days, skies, water] - Change Firestorm to your viewer name...

You have to set Win-10 to show system files. It is a setting in Windows Explorer.
