If I want to change Avatars, I have to quit out and then reload. i think it wouldn't make a lot of difference.. you'd still need the time to load inventory and world, establishing all connections with the servers. Another reason might be that for LL accounts are seperate entities, not connected. It would need some serious work under the hood before it would change smoothly.
