I don't even show display names inworld. Too many people use garbage characters. True usernames only for me. Amen to that.

For the last ten years display names have been the fix for sticking people with increasingly unusable usernames. To expect someone to make use of display names in world to get something reasonable and prohibit them from using the same name on the forums seems a bit crap. 2. Not everyone in the world uses the Latin alphabet. Allowing residents to use characters of their own language in their user name seems like the right thing to do. Especially since there are support forums in several of those languages. But the first thing everyone thinks about is how the glamazons will invade the forum with their unicode bling and ruin everything.

Yeah it's not written into the invision board that LL does not make, and Invision boards have no support for display names such as the like we see in SL. Just as it's a fact that not all Second Life users would consider a "last name" - a family name appended to and following a given name - to be the natural way to form a person's name in their culture. People with 'tudes like yours are the reason life sucks so much. The worst part is, you don't even know what you are talking about. You've only convinced yourself you do. Thing is we already have a display name... right underneath your user name over there on the left. You just have to make 500 posts to be able to change it.
