You have not addressed the second part of my post, in which I tried to distinguish between talking about how LL can profit from this tragedy, and how LL might respond in a socially responsible and generous way to it? Does that seem like a reasonable distinction to you?

Whoever reads this thread will decide not to use SL as alternative reality to meet. There is plenty of choice in platforms with less drama.
