Linden Lab just announced, at least it seems, that Tilia will no longer be part of SecondLife? The message was a bit shadowed in the recent "An Update About Second Life" Blog.

To Quote the Blog:

Excerpt:

Quote

There’ve been quite a few rumors about changes at the Lab and their possible effects on Second Life and Tilia. The truth is that we have made a few operational and personnel changes to ensure that we continue to stay strong for the next decade and beyond. This means that we had to say goodbye to a few employees......

IF Tilia will cease to exist, will we be returning to the old system for Linden Exchanges? Or?

I'm sure many Residents would love a better explanation of this.

Until Linden Lab releases information to the contrary, do not assume that Tilia will be going anywhere. Remember that Tilia exists thanks to varied banking/financial regulations - unless those change, expect it to be around for quite some time.

Also bear in mind that Tilia did not change much in the way the linden Exchange functions - it simply shifted the responsibility to a different, related entity. One that is still a part of linden Lab, meaning some of the changes would have happened anyway.

I don't see anything in the blog post that says Tilla won't be part of LL/SL anymore. The changes apply to LL as a whole it's been mentioned quite a few times on the forums about @Kona Linden being one of the employees LL is saying goodbye to

Well if this is going to get squashed (and I personally see nothing in the announcement that even seems to relate to Tilia -- which had been handling things for years even before the new rules) then  @Grumpity Linden   needs to let us know.  Rockridge if you are official you need to state that; you don't LOOK official :D.

Hi All! Sorry if that wording in the blog came out awkwardly.  Second Life continues to be powered by Tilia, which continues to be a fully-owned subsidiary of Linden Research, Inc.

Fun fact: at a recent all-hands, Ebbe was wearing a Second Life hoodie, which, when he unzipped it, revealed a "Powered by Tilia" T-shirt.

another case of READ and re readbefore speaking out or should i say read and comprehend - yes i mean it and no im not nice all the time, seriously it was dead easy to understand doesnt say anything about tilia being removed or separated "possible effects on Second Life and Tilia."     just the effects it might have on SL including Tilia ... whishful thinking much?   And thanks Grupity for yet again clarifying something that wasnt at all hard to understand ;)

Was the hoodie a BOM? Did he need an alpha for the tee shirt? (When his RL neighbors see the tee shirt- do they think , a new  little blue pill?  ...... it sounds medicine-y)
