Madelaine McMasters Posted May 11, 2021 Share Posted May 11, 2021 I was tickled by the YouTube comment "The deal imposed by Miles in this session was that Monk does not accompany him during his trumpet solos (except for tracks composed by Monk like Bemsha Swing)." This was explained in a sub-comment "At that time, Miles said that Monk tended to point soloists in his own direction and that disturbed him. Much later, he changed his mind."
