I do love Tom Waits - thanks for posting @Madelaine McMasters!

You're welcome, the pleasure was mine!

The "beautiful" voices of people like Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion and the like don't do much for me. I like the odd voices, the voices that crackle and growl, hiss and coo, warble and scream. Tom Waits, Fiona Apple, the girls of Katzenjammer, Carsie Blanton. The human voice is the most expressive music instrument there is and some people can work me into a lather with it.

This came on an oldies channel I heard in SL so i had to find a copy and share.

It is from 1975 but for me, add another year.  I was too young to be where I was doing what I was but we were in love.  Picture a chilly late Autumn night.  Doobie Brothers 8-track and the car windows so foggy water runs down the glass in streaks.  It's cold outside, my skin if tight with chills that were not all caused by the weather and we would always be together.

...

This is that song.

I can't say this was the actual song playing at that exact moment but it was certainly on the play list.
