Elektroqueen Diesel
hello you! I wonder where people buy their standing still AOs? or are they just photo poses animations added to the AO? Can someone recommend a shop? Angelina String
I use walks and stands from IsoMotion (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Jaffee/13/229/1259) These are specialized walks that are made to not clip with garments when modelling - like reduced walks with step lenght for when wearing long skirts, stands with arms held out from body when wearing wide clothes, walks/stands for carrying bags etc... They are also made so that the transition from a walk to a stand works nicely and natural. I fill them up in the internal Firestorm AO, and in a free AO HUD for when I use other viewers.
Janet Voxel
Most of the time people are just using static poses when they're standing still. There are pose AOs out there though. Stun poses makes really nice standing poses. They also do "breathing" standing poses, which are subtly animated static poses. 3

Eva Knoller
In addition to the ones mentioned here, I like and use Ana Poses breathing stands. Some feature very subtle arm movements in addition to the breathing. I loaded a variety into the Firestorm AO.
Nalates Urriah
There are lots of pose and animation makers in SL. Search: animation. Then go shopping. Angelina pointed out different creators make for different purposes. Also, some creators make animations in different SIZES. The closer the animation is to your size the better it will look when playing. I disagree with janetosilio. I think most peeps in SL use animated stands. I use several stands in each of my different animations sets. I'll typically have 5 to 10 stands in a single AO set. I use Firestorm's built-in AO when using Firestorm. The new AO's, which I use in other viewers, I've seen tend to use about 500MB of ram. AO RAM is held on the server side. The FS AO is viewer side. It makes sailing, flying, and other region crossings less painful be reducing server side memory use. Older AOs like ZHAO II use older coding but work well and use much less memory that the new AOs I've tried. The ZHAO is usually free. Don't buy it... However, in regions that are overloaded and drop Scripts Run % to 5 ro 25%, the 'attached' AOs will have problems. You can still see a walk animation for a few seconds after you stop walking. (You can see Scripts Run % in viewer stats: Ctrl-Shift-1.) These days most animations are Copy-OK. So, you can put them in multiple AOs.

They do produce "specialized" poses and animations (for things like selfies, for instance), but most of their poses are just really naturalistic looking poses, rather than the modelly poses that seem to be what a great many other pose makers focus upon. Their poses also generally come with doubles for "curvy" shapes -- which I find useful when I'm wearing what Taya calls "wide clothes). (I also have longer than usual arms -- because proportional to body size -- and the "curvy" versions work well for those too.) The other thing about Stun -- they generally participate in the Weekend Sale, which means that they'll usually have one or more often two poses sets (of six poses each) on sale for :$60 every week. I must have about a hundred of their poses and animations now, and they are usually my first go-to. 1

It may not be part of the AO, I have a "Stand still" pose that came with my avatar, I guess you can buy a pose like that by free in the Marketplace

I'd been wanting an AO that stood still for so long and Stun had exactly what I was looking for. The breathing poses are perfect and have subtle hand movements too so you're not like a statue. I like the curvy versions cause I also have issues where sometimes it'll clip through a wide skirt or dress.
