I just bought a gacha necklace off the MP....after a  "transfer" capability search  for his particular rose necklace for a Valentine's gift.

That's the whole thing about gacha, you can't gift it, you have to transfer it.

Received item, opened "Item Properties" and it is Modify Only.

Dishonest seller, not only listed it in the transfer category (the little side boxes you tick in a search)....also wrote in the MP listing it was a TRANSFER item.

So I go back in to the MP to write a review and the item listing is gone .

I can't flag the seller or the item.

Dishonest people suck.  There is no recourse to flag someone and have this seller pulled off the MP.

I would have bought the necklace from a different seller if I knew I was dealing with a liar.  Now I have a necklace but I bought it for a pressie for another.

Yeah yeah I understand the whole gacha you get what you get in the MP, lose it too bad, be online when delivered , but do not list an item as transfer when it is not.

Liar liar pants on fire.

Did you double check the actual necklace as that might be transfer and the packaging not

Why can't you buy second hand gacha from the Marketplace as a gift for another avatar? I have done it lots of times.

I agree that it is dishonest to change the permissions to no transfer. A really dirty thing to do.

A lot of gatcha's are sold in a no-copy/transferable 'box' that has a one use script in it - when used that script gives a copy/no-trans version of the item.

Ie: you can pass it around until it's opened.

This is considered a feature - most people dislike owning something that is no-copy/transfer.

Another new tactic I just found out about last night when the Bellisseria Citizens group had people talking about it is you take the no-copy item to the store that made it and give it to something there as a trade-in to get a copy/no-trans version instead. But I believe this method is both new and requires going to the original creator who needs to have an inworld location...

This is something that some Gacha creators have offered for quite a while.  In some cases, they'll have a vendor in the store that does the exchange.  You rez your Transfer version on a special platform, your item then disappears (pretty sure it gets eaten by the vendor) and you then receive the Copy version.  Even if they don't have an official policy on exchanging Gachas like that, some creators will do so if you contact them.  One group that I belong to, the creator holds a Gacha exchange once a month - she does it all manually.  So on that one day, for whatever timespan, you contact her and then after acknowledgement you send her your item and she sends you back the Copy version.

You absolutely CAN gift a gacha directly from the MP. The only limitation of gifting from the MP is $0L items (you can't gift those, unless that's changed since this morning..but I doubt it has lol)

I gift gacha items to people all the time, directly form the MP, the same way I'd gift anything else.. "buy as gift" > enter the recipient name > enter a message in the lil box if I so desire> click finish, then check out (or continue shopping and adding items to my cart if I want). I literally gifted a handful of them just today :)
