Rear View Movement

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

I'm using Firestorm for SL and recently when I click on the rear view movement icon it takes me to an aerial view, it used to give a view from my avi face..its really frustrating as moving is becoming difficult.  I adjust my view, when standing still but the moment I move (in rear view) it takes me into an aerial view... HELP !!!!!!

Ive tried re-installing with no luck, please can someone tell me how to get the rear view back to the default view.  many thanks

Dee

Reinstalling is never the first thing to do when troubleshooting.

I recommend joining the support group inworld (there are several for different languages) and bookmarking the wiki https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/

When you join one of the groups watch for the bolded type as they are the official troubleshooters. Many in the groups are very knowledgeable and can help but listen to the mods first.

That sounds more like some attachment is controlling camera placement.

Save your outfit, then remove everything and slowly add the objects back until the problem occurs again. If it is an object you're wearing, you'll have found the culprit.

Barring that, follow the trouble shooting links others have provided.

I've got some advice on camera setup here as well:

- you can use that to see which if any of your settings have gotten off track.

I would agree that this is highly likely.

Forcing changes on the camera is common in Camera HUDS, vehicles, and even the 'experience settings' of some regions...

Yes! My boat has a HUD that does just that. The HUD can be minimized and difficult to see. Have you been in a marina and tried a boat demo?

Total tangent but WHY THE HECK do so many vehicles have a camera lock that forces me to look at the ground 2m in front of the vehicle and not even be able to see the horizon line...

Like... if I drove a real car looking down at the gravel right in front of my bumper at so sharp an angle I couldn't see more than 10 feet of road ahead... that wouldn't end well...

I have actually bought camera HUDs... just to override other camera HUDs...
