You might want to try Dark Reader which lets you choose your OWN version of "dark" or "light" and adjust each separately (or turn them off on specific pages. It has made a tremendous difference for me. So much easier to read. Lots of software now is done in "charcoal" or "taupe" and I certainly understand why. Here is what it looks like on my settings.
