Claireschen Hesten
Possibilities i can think of: you've alpha'd your scalp or used an alpha layer if you use BoM, the hair has some level of modification you've made it too large/small or moved it up, the hair includes rigs for specific head brands and you're using the wrong rig
KayMayhem
it may be the BOM thing.. is there a way to revert it without replacing it? What do you mean alpha'd my scalp? how? Also, .. I'm totally new to BOM and was just playing around when I applied it, are you not supposed to use alphas with it? Edited January 7, 2020 by KayMayhem more questions. Angelina String
In my experience, there are big differences in how well different hair brands fit different head brands. Some combinations are perfect, many not so much. Some of my Doux hair come in 3 sizes (S,M,L), if yours is one of those I presume you are using the smallest one? Otherwise it might be that the rigging of that hair is not suitable for your head, which is quite common. I have plenty of hair that demand thoroughly thought through camera angles o not show a gap between head and hair in photos. Seems like most hairs are rigged for Catwa, the one I have had most trouble finding perfect fit hair for is Akeruka, and to a certain extent Genus actually... What brand of head are you wearing BTW? What would be really strange, and something I have no idea of why might happen, is if they've fitted perfect earlier, and now suddenly do not without you having changed the head... You mention BoM, some head brands I know of uses two different versions of their head - one for BoM, and one for appliers. The BoM version might have a slightly different shape to make it match the standard SL UV map better... Nalates Urriah
BOM has nothing to do with the size of things. It assigns texture and that is all. But, Angelina has a point. There is no way to anticipate what the designer did. So, check it out. If the hair changes with the head, that suggests it is rigged mesh. We can't size or position rigged mesh. So, the designer has to provide some means of sizing or multiple sizes. Make sure nothing has deformed your avatar. In FS in Avatar Health there is an "undeform avatar" feature. Click it and see if it helps. Also, right-click the avatar and select Reset Skeleton and Animations. That may help. And of course.... relog is a typical first try at fixing anything odd in SL. Ajay McDowwll
Since I made the move to a mesh head (Genus Classic), my Doux hair has had a similar problem, and I've yet to find a solution even with switching up sizes. Ultimately, I've just gone to other brands that are more Genus-friendly. I miss my cute Doux styles, but I've found others I love that I wear instead.
Lillith Hapmouche
Playing with the forehead slope, eyebrow area size, Egghead shape ... and some more which modify the forehead area... sliders while editing your shape should show an effect for that fitting. Just changing the head size will also change the rigged hairstyle, that's the point of it. As for the original poster: have you worn a hairbase before that might have reduced the visual aspect?
Wynter Paine
Mine is doing the exact same thing and my favorite hair brand is doux. they fit my catwa head perfectly, but I now have a lelutka head, and it does this exact thing with all doux hairs. It's annoying lol
Ceka Cianci
Start with the smallest size and work your way up.. They used to make a catwa size years ago, but now it's mostly S M L and sometimes XS. I use Lelutka heads and have been using doux ever since they've been around.. Something like that is usually having on the wrong size hair.. Usually. I'm always having to switch hair sizes when I switch head brands, because each head brand is not the same size as the one I switched from.. Also make sure the hair is attached to the skull and not the chin or right hand or anywhere else.. Â

It's annoying lol Doux hair comes in several sizes. S or XS fits Lelutka. The brand I've had to give up wearing is Exile because they're mostly one size only, and it most definitely does not fit all.

Not that I had a lot of Exile hair but I thought this issue was just me. Haven't even been able to wear any of the newer styles, either.
