Lost a bunch of No Copy inventory items, can't redeliver

Hey there, so I've run into a problem... The place I've been renting from and living for well over a year abruptly decided to close their rental services (over the holidays nonetheless 😒) and I wasn't around to get the (insanely short) notice and take back my no-copy items before everything got nuked. I logged in and everything was gone.

 

I checked my inventory, lost and found, etc. Did a search, nothing. I've lost:

 

Plenty of no-copy stuff from PrimPossible/MeshPossible, a Truthball, and a Greedy Greedy table, along with other misc things. These items were anywhere from  600 to 1+k lindens. I'm like... over 25 items down I'd say. That's a lot of money.

 

There's no redelivery option for them on the MP, did I seriously just lose everything...?

I know you said you checked Lost and Found, but did you double-check to make sure you didn't have any new coalesced objects in your inventory?  (with a multiple box symbol).  When things get returned they may returned as one group object with the name of the last object added to the group, so sometimes it's hard to recognize what they actually area in your inventory.   You might switch to the "recent" tab in your inventory window and adjust the filters to show new items since just before the sim became unavailable - if any non-copy items were returned, they should show up in the "recent" tab.

So your furniture and all your other objects are inside something called a coalescedobject... It is in your lost and found folder and the icon in your inventory for it looks like a bunch of boxes bundled up.... Go to a sandbox and rez that while you have the edit window open.... It is basically a bunch of your items jumbled up.  You will be able to recover everything   

 

 

Ohhh Oops,  I forgot to mention...  It will not be named as my furniture because the coalesced objects contains everything in your house.  It will most likely be named one of the objects that was picked up....  It could be named "object"  or  "rug"  or anything

 

 

A coalesced object is a single object. This is the icon for it. Please heed my advice. I want to resolve this.  http://tinyurl.com/mu8gg2g

Often in these cases you can send in a support ticket and LL "may" return the sim for a short period of time so you can retrieve your items.  IF the sim is still there but your items have just been sent back and didn't make it, then it is likely you have lost them.  But a ticket would be the next step. Good luck.

The sim itself didn't go down. The owners just decided to sell it or something and nuke all of their rental services without giving people much of a notice. :I

Makes me feel like I'm not allowed to buy the things I want now if I rent somewhere else because I run the risk of losing actual money if it pops out of existence like this...

Submit a support case and ask Linden Lab to reopen the region so that you can retrieve your items. Unless you have waited too long -- more than a month? -- they will usually be willing to do that.

To add to Ample Clarity's excellent response...

I hope you found your stuff bundled into a coalesced object in your Lost and Found folder.  When you go to a sandbox to rez it out, I recommend choosing a spot well away from the sandbox borders.  It's best to rez a platform first, fairly high up in the air, and rez the coalesced object on the platform.

Why?  Because everything will rez in the same relative positions they were in when you had them rezzed in your rental home.  You have to provide enough surrounding space for a clean rez.  If things run into borders or end up underground, it can lead to difficulties or even the loss of objects.

I also want to emphasize that you should have your Edit window open before you rez the object.  That way, all the parts will be selected, and it will be easier to find them and collect them.
