Yours is not the first time this issue has popped up here in the fora. If possible, use the Linden Lab Second Life viewer just to see if you are still experiencing the logouts. If so, get details of when you get disconnected and file a JIRA. If it only happens on Firestorm, gather those details while using their viewer and file a JIRA with the Firestorm team.

It's just the old best-effort without any safety ropes region transfer mechanism that causes it: The current region sends your viewer the connect URL of the new region, then it shuts down it's circuit with your viewer. If your viewer then fails to connect to the region for whatever reason (network issue on your end, on your ISP's end, somewhere on the route to LL, within LL's network itself...), you're doomed as the current region already closed the connection and you get timed out after 60 seconds since you didn't receive any updates from any simulator at all. It's a typical case of LL under-engineering to leave out a fallback mechanism here.

Ansariel's is a good explanation of what may be happening.

There are timing issues. Wearing lots of scripts and attachments can add to the problem. But, even when using a stripped default avatar (ACI =1000 & no scripts) you can run into a region that is having a challenge. When flying of sailing you will often see green dots lined up on a region crossing (mini-map). One of those regions is not working correctly. You may be able to log into that region, but you likely won't be able to cross into that region.

It is much less likely your connection is the problem for the row of green dots. Those dots represent people that can be anywhere in the world and have various qualities of connection into SL. This likely suggests a region or region-to-region connection problem.

For months some of the vehicle makers have been coming to the UG meetings and complaining.

So, if flying or sailing having the mini-map open is a good defensive tactic. It helps also when filing the JIRA as you can know how many others were hitting the problem and include that in your report. Remember. Exact time of the incident is important
