How to find shopping events?

Over the years, random people have told me about one monthly shopping event or another (most of which die after a few months, it seems), but I have never been able to figure out how to discover them on my own. Is it just word-of-mouth and luck, or is there some trick I am missing?

PS: Btw, I am pretty much just interested in events related to avatar appearance, not home and garden or anything else. Thx!

There are two websites that keep track of most of them... Grid Affairs and Seraphim. There may be more but those are the two I use.

I occasionally something in the What's Hot Now of the in-world Destinations guide. It would be nice if I could find stuff like this in some kind of search, but honestly, I find searching for anything in SL horrible. And the Destinations online site is just a disaster. IMO, they might actually have better uptake of SL if they didn't make everything so opaque and user-unfriendly. ~
