Rumancekk
I didn't know exactly where to post this, but since it wasn't an actual question about MY avatar... why the heck do avatars have brains? I don't know of its a SPECIFIC mesh or what but everytime I load into a sim , chances are in addition to seeing floating clothes, I'm gonna see a floating brain. I just can't fathom why the care was put into putting a brain in when you're not even supposed to see it ,and what the point of it is?
Garnet Psaltery
To freak people out? I don't know, I've wondered that myself.
Desiree Moonwinder
Because it differentiates a particular brand of mesh head, and is near-zero work due to nice mesh purchasable on the web. Lindal Kidd
But, Desiree...even us classic avatars have brains! I always thought it was in case of a Zombie Attack. We could all just throw our brains at them and escape while they were busy snacking. 1

I think you're referring to the classic avatar hair that's usually tucked inside the scull and alpha'd-out. If its not alpha'd, it does look a little like a brain, I admit. Lindal Kidd
Ewwww. Now I'm wondering how I manage to think with a head full of hair. On the inside, I mean. On the bright side, if I throw it to the zombies, they'll get hairballs.
cheesecurd
It so when you enter a safe hub and instantly receive at minimum 10 different IM's that all start with "hey" you can blow your brains out with realistic detail.
Desiree Moonwinder
http://forums-archive.secondlife.com/109/41/335022/1.html Quote also to make the bald wig even better, add a totally clear texture to it (there should be one in the library folder) that way you won't have any tiny bits sticking out as sometimes does happen. Its the little spot on the upper right of the head texture that needs to be alpha'd out on the system skin to mask the system hair. It is done like this: Edited December 12, 2019 by Desiree Moonwinder

Maitimo
Its a trademark of one particular head maker. What I never understood though is, 1) Why are they so small? and 2) Why are they red? Brains are supposed to be grey. 1

Linda Reddevil
It's the Catwa signature. It can be turned off though but maybe it makes some feel smart 🧠 by keeping it visible. Why ruin the illusion for them?

Tolya Ugajin
I believe a better question is, why doesn't LL require the people operating avatars to have brains? 5

BelindaN
A couple of days ago there was a glitch and a few avis were walking around with no head and the brain and teeth hanging out the front. I don't have a brain. I checked.

But just having a brain doesn't say much. There once was a chicken, that survived its own (botched) decapitation, because part of its brain (at least the brainstem) was still intact. It could breath, digest food and keep other vital functions running.
Cinos Field
I used to have a full set of internal organs. It was just fun too see how many people cammed through me. Then I decided I'd rather spend that complexity on things everyone will see.
