We all have questions that we would love to know the answers to. We all have a loved one who passed away that we never got a chance to say goodbye to. Let me help you get closure or find the answers that you seek.  I have decided to discount my services until December 1st.  Spirit messages are just 100L.  I also now offer tarot card readings for 200L.  These services as I mentioned are on discount until the 1st of December.  Do not hesitate to message me.

I had a tarot reading in SL almost 15 years ago and was shocked at the accuracy. There was no way this reader could have known the things that she knew....both present day realities for me and realities in the future that indeed came true.

I believe we block out tuning into this other type of consciousness....I won't call it a spirit world as that's such a loaded term. I think our brains just typically tune out these other types of consciousness, but if both reader and the person they are reading become more open it's amazing what can transpire.

Of course there are fakes, those who can't really tune in but pretend to and use various tricks.

I have, several times in my life, convinced other people that I have psychic powers. Not all of those times were intentional. In truth, none of them really were. I'm always surprised when other people jump to supernatural conclusions for things (observing and teasing) I do quite naturally.

I once did this while standing outside a building on my college campus, waiting for friends. I noticed that the streetlamp above my head was cycling on and off. The mercury vapor bulb was worn and overheating and the internal thermostat was protecting the fixture. I counted off the seconds to complete an on/off cycle and, as expected, each cycle was the same duration. By the time my friends arrived, I'd learned the cycle well enough to anticipate it to within a second or two.

I don't recall the exact conversation, but I tried to steer it such that I could command the streetlamp to do my bidding, turning it so I could find something in my purse, turning it off when it was casting an unflattering light (as mercury lamps do) on a friend's face. It didn't take long to spook several of them. I even expressed exasperation when the streetlamp, because I found it difficult to count seconds in my head while chatting with my friends, failed to respond quickly. Nothing conveys sincerity when demonstrating your "superiority" more than to question it.

Once I explained how I'd attained my "super" power, my friends went from being in awe of it to wondering why I was so weird. I have no answer for that question.

In one particularly memorable exchange, my explanation was discarded by a witness who expressed a great deal of concern over the obvious stress I was enduring as I tried to rationalize away my supernatural abilities. For a brief while after, I was more circumspect about leveraging my above average ability to notice certain things to play with people's imaginations. Now I'm back to gleefully allowing people to pull the wool over their own eyes, and love it when people can get me to do the same.

That's just sad. The fakes do all that. If you're such a skeptic, quit commenting on my posts.

I believe you are asking a skeptic to stop being skeptical.

I can't speak for Alwin, but in situations like these, though I may respond to posts, I am not actually targeting my message at the poster. My audience is everyone else.

I can't speak for Alwin, ...

i can :)
my first replies weren't that serious or meant to distroy a thread, however i can't take claims doing readings serious....
my wiki post was more aimed at the post of Luna, that was for me a excellent example of a cold reader technique.

I've watched several cold reader demonstrations, they're pretty impressive. It takes a fair amount of skill to pull them off.

I also love attending magic shows and trying to anticipate the manipulations that are intended to distract us from to the deceptions. There was a local magician who put on annual Halloween magic shows, and became a traditional outing for my family. He was always available in the lobby after the show. My first few encounters with him were awkward, as I'd unravel some trick to show how smart I was. I was not yet aware of the "Magician's Code". Over the years I learned to keep the revelations to myself and simply commend him on the truly impressive craftsmanship in his work. I knew I'd finally connected when I received a wink in return.

There isn't a day goes by that I don't find myself drawing some absurd cause-and-effect conclusion for an unexpected happening. The challenge is to understand to what extent I do what without noticing, and to what effect.

It was not a "cold reading" as described in your link. There were no leading questions or other types of manipulation to assist her responses. In fact, she was rather quiet and said little. I went into the reading with skepticism and kept close track of the process; I was not so much skeptical of whether we can indeed access knowledge in ways not known to materialists at this time, but skeptical as to whether she was a competent reader.
