Evolving is actually good i would say. Sometimes we might evolve because our surroundings have forcefully changed. I am still unsure if it is me or if it is the player base which has evolved during the years. I find it's today not so much about roleplay but more family play and being correct and ... well, nice. So yeah, i evolved to the point that i lost my interest for RP in RP Sims. Today i might be much much more inclined just to have a litte one on one RP, somwhere. 

I think it's more the player-base than each individual self. SL is becoming more and more solo affair than it used to be. At the least, if feels that way.

   I organize occasional merfolk swims, bringing both friends and strangers together for ~30 minute swims through the seas of SL.

   I'm part of a group of friends that meets every Sunday morning to have breakfast together, dance to music, and just chat, visit and laugh.

   I go dancing with my partner certain evenings of the week. Locations and DJs vary, and it's always fun.

   I'm often either building things or thinking about it.

   These are only a few of the may things I really like to do in SL.

Yesh...but it would be on my list of things I don't like about SL. 

I did it...it just did not interest me.  I'd rather it be rl and not say much more about it than that.  I want to kiss human lips....etc.  

I love the dance animations though.

When I'm not shopping or rearranging the decor in my house for the 300th time, I like to visit sims through the destinations box and see where I end up. Sort of bummed I'm too late to see the Resident Evil sim, but I did enjoy Gacha Guilds hunt sim.

I use to enjoy roleplaying and playing with furniture with my ex but that's obviously moot now 😛

Seriously, though, most of my time on SL is spent just relaxing with my fiance playing games and chatting.  Most of the time we wander away from home we're just disappointed.

And I will tell you two things about cybersex I don't like.  I don't like the horridly over-dramatic facial expressions on the avatar for females.  It turns me off completely and my rl face never ever looked like that.  And, I don't like having a conversation or "emoting".  I don't usually have a conversation during sex.  I don't want to "act" sex.  I just don't like it.  I am not interested in acting at all and I role play almost not at all on SL.  The emoting turns me off too.

SL has quite a mix of people and preferences. It isn't surprising that some like pixel sex and some don't. The differences in people keep it interesting.

I'll add to my favorites...

Teasing the boys is where it starts. For a time I collected pickup lines used on me. Some of the big I Can't Believe They Think That Works I actually would try out with a male Alt. Surprising results, both ways. I am not sure I would list collecting pickup lines as a favorite thing. But, I do have fun with it.

Sex is fun RL and interesting, to say the least, in SL. I am curious about people and society and I think the interaction between people when one wants something from the other reveals a lot. Then tell someone 'no'.

I am always curious about how the media's thought conditioning is affecting people. In SL I can experiment with using buttons I suspect are being implanted and see the reactions. It is getting easier to separate the thinkers and reactors. (Yes, there is a button in this paragraph.)

I too like making stuff in SL. Poses and animations tailored to my specific avatar. I used to prim-build in SL. I don't do much of that these days. I tend to use Blender and make mesh things.

Exploring is a main pass-time. I love flying a copter... until SL disconnects me or I hit a region that is down or drops my crossing. On the mini-map you often see flyers and sailors stuck on a region boundary like flies on a window. I find so many places while flying that I would never have known about otherwise. The copter goes way faster than I can fly. I can look around as I travel from one place to another. I do landings for practice and to stop and see the places I have discovered. There are amazing airports and marinas with automated stuff.

No, it didn't translate too well.  I thought you had a genuine interest as to why cybersex was not a big fave listed in this thread yet.

But, it's all a preference.  A vote would be interesting.  My guess is shopping might be the top winner if there were a vote.  But, that's just a guess.

I used to like hanging out in text-discussion venues but those have largely vanished.

I used to like exploring SL but it kinda all looks like something I've already seen now.

I used to like hanging out in dance clubs but my music tastes don't match with most SL people now.

I used to like live-music venues but they tend towards folk, soft rock, blues, etc and are genres I'm not too into.

I used to think I would like those AFK venues for the kink... but it seems the customers are the ones who are actually AFK... so meh...

I used to like building stuff but I've not mastered the transition to mesh and have too many things in RL taking my time to be able to...

I used to like shopping but too often stuff is not for my choice of body, skin tone, or hair style so I do a LOT less of that...

 

Kinda... not doing much these days... I log in all the time... but mostly sit around on my land half AFK...

On my phone I live in the forums, I use forum mail to keep in touch, and I shop in MP. 

In my head I plan outfits, and tomorrow's itinerary, and which alt to pester.

In world I constantly update my outfits. I search for photo opportunities, and take pics for the forums and flickr. I explore, and hunt for good conversation. I go dancing and to the beaches. I flirt, I engage in chat, more often IM than local. I sometimes hang out with the Angels and chat or take photos. I help newbies. I give fashion and avi advice. I don't expect paying.

Occasionally I have sex, yeah, occasionally. Just occasionally. Really. Because everything else is as much fun, or more fun.

Back in the day I was always trying to learn something new, or build something.  Most days I would at least have GIMP running in the background.  There are countless "object"s in my inventory that I'll likely never look at again.  That was fun in its own way, but these days I mostly hang out with friends and go to different events.  When it comes to SL stuff outside of SL it's mostly just Youtube, Discord, and the forums for me, with the occasional post on Snapzilla.  It's actually been much more engaging though, I never realized how much time I spent alone in world until I started chatting with other people more, so I guess I was missing out on the community aspect for quite a while.

One thing that hasn't changed is that I still love the SLRR and driving along the old mainland routes.  I don't know why I enjoy this so much, but I do.

I'm curious as to what scooter you're using for Bellissaria. I've tried two brands  of Vespas (Sau & What's Next) and cannot control them at all. I have no trouble with my motor boat in Bellissaria, but for inland I've had to fall back to my wearable horse, which is fun but not the same as driving something. I suppose it could be my computer, which is an old gaming computer, and/or my lack of skill, but I can drive just fine in Borderlands.

Buying land and landscaping it is a complete blast and great learning activity.  You learn a lot about what you do not know every day so having friends in SL who are builders and who have done landscaping is very helpful.  A good break from landscaping is avatar watching and exploring. Now that Franks has closed I will need to find a new place to go and just hang out to see large groups of people from all over the world.   Two activities which are totally fun as well are flying airplanes and sailing in SL.  The dedicated sailing and flying groups are passionate about both activities. and fun to hang out with while doing these two activities.

So 'SL Sex' is one of the few things I am doing, almost all the time, these days in SL.

I noted all the things above I used to do... that just seem to be gone now... there just isn't much left in SL.

And yet... I agree with your two points above.

1. Facial emotes. I had a debate in here with some people recently who refused to believe I had managed to translate the SL 'facial emotes' over to Bento even though I linked 3 HUDs that do it, one of them my own creation. I have a 4th that's unreleased because it's an AO you need to supply animations for, and nobody makes those... so I had to rip them out of heads I own for 'proof of concept'...
   1. As such... I think the solution you would want is... basically the one I sell, which ONLY works for Catwa... it uses the built in animations of Catwa... They are dramatically understated... Half of them are easy to miss, the other half are very obvious but still mild... Basically if you find sex-facial animations too extreme... you need to use the facial animations of Catwa... I found them too subtle... but see my next comment:
   2. What I think was going on with the people I was arguing with is something I recently found... some furniture makers are adding in their own facial animations, and NOT using the ones from the brand of head... One 'extremely popular, possibly #1 XXX-furniture maker in SL judging by the furniture rezzed on most sex-sims' maker does this... and the animation used are... E-X-T-R-E-M-E (mentally insert 164-pt bold neon flashing font here). Like... "hey, I motion captured the monster in the movie Alien for these" extreme... They also over-ride my HUD when they trigger... and he modded AVsitter to do them rather than use it's normal 'AVFaces' system... So... I get it now... Seeing those I was like... OMG WTF is this... But you can either rip them out or use other furniture...
2. Emoting sex... yeah, not for me either... The last thing I personally want when I'm in that mood is to type a term paper on the ways someone licks my butt, with proper paragraph structure, and intro, and a conclusion... Like... no... not for me... This is why I either use the same partner that is silent, or I TP in with an alt to 'random sexxy time sim full of horridly noobish avatars' and just sit on something and watch the animations...
   1. Neither of those is a very satisfying solution... but when I go anywhere but 'noobville' some jerk starts IMing a grunting version of War and Peace at me... and then wants to spend 30 minutes on cuddle animations and getting my life story when I just want my pixel-porn...
   2. This is why I tried the AFK sims back in the day... it's why I've been playing with RLV... But sadly you go to RLV sims and people are all 'please and maam' and I'm like... 'are you people unclear on the concept here or what?'

The above is an outline to an essay...

If you toss that crap at me when we're on poseballs... I'm outta there...
