I have had my Linden home about a week and have just finished decorating it with stuff from lots of different shops. So the house opposite me ws empty and there were Linden peeps in there yesterday. So today I have a nosy at it and they have COPIED m bedroom item by item! Even the layout of the furniture is the same! Downstairs they even have the same chalkboard as me!!! What the hell! I don't know whether to be complemented or freaked out!! haha PS Does anyone know how I change the security so NO ONE can see inside my house, could be awkward haha Pics --- 1st one is my room and second is the neighbours! When I looked at the profile of the owner it states they are a linden Lab Contractor called Quartz Mole but I didn't think they decorated the Linden Homes? This is because they do not count against your prims, so you have 351 Li to decorate with. Click on the ground, and choose "about land". Marianne Little Posted October 29, 2019 Share Posted October 29, 2019 You can not stop anyone from looking in at your furniture. It is as easy for others to cam in to you as you just did to them. If you are sure you hit the ground inside the parcel, and it show as Govenor Linden, then it is some problems with SL. They could have had the same set before they moved in. It is made in 2013 after all. It still looks good. Or your neighbor used their camera, looked in and thought "That was nice. I inspect it and find out who makes it". I often inspect items in others houses. Both the bedroom furniture and the chalkboard is probably owned by a huge number of SL residents. It is a very popular store. Reasonable prices. Aha great idea ok this is even weirder! When they were visiting the house yesterday, their profiles said they were Linden Labs staff. Now that has gone from their profiles! Quartz Mole probably owns your house too. Someone has to own the rezzer for the region, and it's always going to be a mole or a Linden, so any house rezzed from it will belong to the same person. After all, nobody else can rez objects on Protected Land ( Remember that your house is not actually on your parcel. Its root is on the patch of grassy LDPW land next to the street.) Its a little coincidental that they are in the house opposite, don't you think? I myself perv all over my neighborhood looking to see who has cool stuff, and then go to those shops to buy some loot. And some of that stuff looks like it's from BAZAAR which is an absurdly popular store. The rug looks like one I have, the rest looks like it's either from BAZAAR or some guy in a back alley selling BAZAaro handbags... If somebody copied some of the stuff I had, I'd feel honored. It's basically someone telling you think you have good taste... Found a houseboat deck that I loved, so I stopped and made note of the item name and creator. While I was there, I noticed that they had a bed that was very close to what I've been trying to find, so I also noted that item name and creator. Given that I'd already found a couple of things that fit my style, I then proceeded to cam through the entire houseboat to see if they had other items that I might love just as much. I made note of a few things. #1 - Yes, take it as a compliment that someone likes your style, even if they are secretly trying to bug you. #2 - You want to keep people from perving inside your home so that can't copy you, yet you apparently were perving in someone else's home or you wouldn't have even known. Yes, I have done it cause I am not artistic or very good at decorating. I can't even decorate in RL least of all doing it in SL. However, I have gotten better at it. And I got better at it by copying people. I think too there are lots of people coming from the older Linden homes and probably didn't really spend a lot of time decorating the older ones and with the new ones, maybe they are feeling a bit overwhelmed. Copying helps with that. I have seen looks I like and I have copied it in my own places if I have the pieces and if I don't I will sometimes buy it cause I like it. After I set it up that is when I start to make it my own. I will add things, take things away, change colours, textures etc. Copying from someone else gives me a starting point. Not all of us are good at decorating or coming up with our own ideas. Sometimes I don't know where to start so that is why I copy. I can think of a few stores off the top of my head where i can shop and grab things to emulate that room with.
