I would like a new style home with a larger parcel and more prims, but it is so tedius to have to take in all my rezzed objects and abandon my home just to see if any new style homes are available.  And of course there aren't, so I get to go it all over again at a later time. Is there any way to just check for new home availability without abandoning my home, and then just abandon my home once when I go to get a new one?  Also, is there a best time to look for a new home?  Are new homes released like maybe Sunday evening at 6:00 PM SLT, for example?  When is the best day/time to look for a new one?

There's no way to check unless you're able to get a house (so have no house). They've been releasing one or two regions in work time (for the Lindens) on weekdays. There will also be a big release at some point of the new theme, which hasn't be announced yet. The new houses do have bigger parcels and more prims, except for the campers.

The Lindens does not follow exact times. They have said that release days are Mon, Wed and Fri, but with more releases if they have regions ready. Regions is taken in minutes, if not seconds. They refuse to give exact times, because the web page will be crashed with refreshing. There is also set in a refresh limit.

You start by reading this thread. You will see on page two a list of regions released at different times. The two last weeks, the Lindens have released regions 5 days a week, many days also two regions. Regions can have up to 20 homes, roughly. This is what I have observed of houses and boats.Since I have no interest in campers, I don't know much about the numbers released.

All Traditional houses are 32 x 32 m (1024m). The majority of houseboats are on 16 x 64 m with a few exceptions of 32 x 32 m. These all have 351 LI.

The campers have half this size of land and half the LI.

The most sought after are houses and boats. I have seen that when a camper region is released, the time window to claim one is much longer.

If you set up autorefresh as described, you can land a place in Bellisseria faster now than you could in May. The number of homes have increased a lot, but they still can't meet the demands. You can let autorefresh run in another window while you do the things you normally would do on your computer or laptop. You will need to act fast, and if you are visually impaired you are struggling because the little box you click to accept can be hard to hit for all.

You welcome. Also follow the two threads

and

Abandoned homes is posted in one of them or both. It is also a group "Bellisseria Citizens" that's very chatty. You can pick up news there when a region is released. Since we are many with 2 premium accounts and use one to find the "dream location", there are often some abandoned after a region is released. It can be abandoned because we don't like the hedge, or because we don't like beach sand, but want grass. Some of us have had a house in Bellisseria since April, we can be a bit crazy with that hunting. But that means, even if you miss a release you can pick up an abandoned house. With luck.

People are renting out Belli homes?  I believe that's against the covenant, altho I suppose that if they charge no more than a proportional amount to cover their premium fee, they could argue that they're not actually MAKING money.  I guess that would be something like $L480/wk?

From Belli's covenant:

Quote

Activities and items that could be construed as commercial and for profit by Linden Lab are not permitted in the residential homes and houseboats in Bellisseria.

Maybe she didn't mean in Bellisseria.

But I have heard about renting out Belli homes too. I don't know it's a rumour, it can well be. Anyway "it's not illegal unless you get caught" is a saying. I shall not debate that, I just mention it.

I am SURE she meant outside of Bellisseria!

There are lots of lovely rentals outside. I myself rent a little Cottage in Ville de Coer which is themed after French provinces and has lovely seasons. So in Winter I'll rather enjoy the snow there than in Bellisseria - even if something snowy comes up, for on the long run I'll only keep ONE Lindenhome and who wants winter all year?.

Renting and paying for it seems a nice way for people who give up their old homes and did not yet manage to get a new one that suits them. And funily enough having at least one Premioumaccount in order to grab a Belli home even pays for this rent ... by the stipend you get weekly. Befor Belli opened I had no Premium at all so I had to send money for my rental via Paypal. Now I once sent quite a lot to make me and several alts premium ... and the rent is payed for as a side effect! ;)

She was just meaning there are places that can be rented after someone abandons their old Linden Home while they are trying for a new one.

The "alt thing" is just using two premium accounts. One in a house and one to search with.

This fails once they both have houses that you like and you still want to 'perv the options'...

... sigh ...

I -used- to have 5 premium accounts... somebody stop me before I do THAT again...
