Hi Abigail,  wishing you all the best in your pursuit of friendship, possibly leading to something more in SL.  One suggestion.......find activities that you enjoy in SL which will lead to visiting particular sims more often because you enjoy that activity.  There should be plenty of opportunity to meet new people at these sims you enjoy,  and hopefully they will have the same interests that you do.

One of the great mysteries of SL, and RL also, is that when you least expect it someone surprisingly pops into your life that you can develop a meaningful friendship/relationship.  One other last bit of advice, it is always good to be upfront about your desire to be friends only to begin with in meeting someone.  That way you will not have to carry around a stick to swat all of the men who may be thinking other thoughts related to your intentions (if you know what i mean😁 ).    Enjoy SL and good luck with your pursuit!
