My first rez day... hmm, mixed feelings. It was glorious. I had bought a small(ish) home, on a 512 prim plot from a Landlord. And within the first few days I had modded/transformed it into the warmest, cutest home I could make it! I remember being so skittish too: I took a copy after every little change, out of fear I'd ruin it. It was my own little 'safe place' with art I have in my RL home too. And I was ecstatic!

So, whence the 'mixed feelings' then, you ask? Because I have since worked on things 10x as big and expensive, and my knowledge has increased tenfold too. And yet, no matter how beautiful I make things now, no matter how cosy, or fancy, or fancy & cosy, I can never get that feeling of exhilaration back from the days of lore. :( 

In Dutch, we have a saying. I don't know the true English equivalent, but transliterated, it goes like A child's hand is easily filled." Sometimes I wish I could be like that again: where the smallest of things could give me so much delight.

And now I feel maudlin, yikes. Okay, just so you know, I fondly cherish those first days (if that still makes any sense).

Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou...……...always chocolate for me.

Two years in today!!  And I'm still here...……………  :)

It's been quite a journey from that first log in......I watched my avi walk around a few deserted places. I never spoke, or was spoken to, it all seemed strange and lonely.

I nearly didn't pluck up the courage to open an account anyway, but I'm so glad I did.

Three things drew me in. Marketplace (I didn't know you could buy in world until much later)………… The Forums.....  :), and my first real friend who looked after me and gave me a place to live. She is still the most amazing friend, and although she went missing for a while due to a horrible RL, is now back. 

Were it not for those three hooks, I wouldn't have stayed.

Big hugs to everybody who has contributed to, and supported my SL life.
