Has anyone ever choreographed dances for one song?

What I need is for the dances to change at timed intervals in the song.

For instance, I want dance A to play for 68 seconds, dance B to play for 44 second as soon as dance A stops, dance C to play for 58 seconds as soon as dance B stops, dance D to play for 39 seconds as soon as dance C stops, and then perhaps a bow at the end of the song that play for 6 seconds, and stop.

How difficult would it be to make something like this?

Do you know anyone whoever has?

Plus, how would you start it?

I can put the dances in a dance hud and change each dance when it's supposed to in the song but I do not want have to click on each dance every time.

I desperately need help in understanding IF this can even be achieved and how difficult would it be to accomplish?

What you're asking -- a timed sequence -- is fairly simple. If there is only one dancer, it's very simple. If there are multiple dancers, it's still pretty simple but there needs to be some kind of cross-communication between the HUDs or whatever you'd want to use to keep everybody in sync with the lead dancer.

If you're not comfortable with LSL, you should find a scripter to do it for you. You can post in the Wanted or Inworld Employment sections of the forum, for example.

I'd need the "timed sequence" dances to be use-able for multiple dancers.

I'm a newbie to scripting.

I wish there were a ready-made "gadget" with scripts that were fairly easy to understand so I could just buy it as I think hiring a personal scripter could be quite expensive.  I've gotten one quote already which was kind of high for my budget right now.

Any chance anyone might like to make a gadget that could accomplish this and sell it on MP?  They could possibly  even sell those in the animations store and give a percentage to the animation store for carrying it.

Edit:  Oh, and sorry for posting in the wrong section.  I think this is a script question more than an animation question.

Hi,

A friend pointed this thread out to me.  I can think of at least two creators/creative teams that sell modern products that do this.  I'm not sure about the forum's rules on recommending specific products, but if you search marketplace for dance sequence or performance you'll start to see some of them.  There's a whole community of sorts (or maybe it's better to describe it as a group of communities?)  that does dance performances and they use these tools pretty heavily.

There are also YouTube tutorials and I've seen classes for some of these tools once or twice a week.

It's fine to recommend specific products as long as it's relevant (ie. someone specifically asks for recommendations) and not just advertising/spamming.

You can find the rules here.
