Saturday 1 AM rolling restarts

Something's definitely going on right now. The status blog says it's a scheduled restart but doesn't have any more information. Does anybosy know anything about it?

I thought it was to do with fixing the script issues people have reported and i am not yet awake enough to find the link to where I read that 😣

Yep, we are rolling the grid right now to revert the most recent update to LSL script improvements. This should prevent further issues with objects communicating. (But if you continue seeing issues with scripts, whether it's communication or something else we want to know about them!)

On the plus side, I think I've found the topic of my "geek" column for the Bay City Post this month. 👨‍🚀

Doubt I have anything useful to contribute, though, about process changes to reduce the risk of something similar arising in future. Uncovered race conditions are about as pernicious as software problems get.

@Mazidox Linden my scripted attachments seem to be working again when i log into a main channel region

The only weirdness that I saw before and after the rolls is that llRezObject() and llRezAtRoot() do not seem to honor their 0.1 second delays.

I don't know if this was the result of anything recent or a few years back when Simon did changes to rez handling or even farther back, but I know for a fact the delay used to exist and was honored at some point in the past as I built an application to get around the delay.

I hope this is the right place for my inquiry. Starting early this morning my AO's have stopped working with the  Akeyo hud. I tried resetting the hud among other things, but nothing has worked. I have managed to load an older hud from my inventory which has fixed my walk and stand, but no dances will work. It the script problem still an issue, or has it been fixed and my hud borked? Thank you!

Yes, I read that. I was trying to find out if the problem was still ongoing before getting a redelivery and spending all the time reloading the hud.

 

UPDATE: I simply went ahead and did the redelivery and reloaded everything. Seems to be working now. I have no clue what put it out of commission, but everything else on the sim seems to be fine.
